What accounts for Naruto's gain? This is freaky.
I wish Super could hold on to more of Jack's viewers, but again, it's a rerun. Kai is usually doing better than this.
JoJo did really poorly here. Gundam not well either, but Hunter x Hunter hold on nicely and then Shippuden recovered like a king. On its way out, this isn't bad for One Piece either.
Really weird numbers this night. Hopefuly next week is better for the early premieres.
I bet the 20th anniversary numbers will be through the roof. Serious promotion at hand.
Clearly, DeMarco's holding out on his secret weapon for an anniversary ratings boost
Top 25 ratings are in and we have more disappointment.
Samurai Jack: 1,300,000
JoJo and Gundam didn't do as terrible as last week, but Kai has been on a cold streak lately. Samurai Jack's second week ratings are also shockingly 200,000 viewers lower than the first week. I thought it would pick up steam.
Full ratings are now out:
11:00 Samurai Jack 1300 0.68 871
11:30 Dragon Ball Super 1054 0.52 666
12:00a Sand Whale and Me 893 0.45 574
12:05a Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters 973 0.48 616
12:30a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure 790 0.41 527
1:00a Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 679 0.36 456
1:30a Hunter X Hunter 660 0.34 438
2:00a Naruto: Shippuden 656 0.34 431
2:30a One Piece 587 0.30 386
3:00a Ghost in the Shell (r) 559 0.28 365
Looks like Jack is the only hit. Super falls a lot. Interesting how Sand Whale scared a lot of people away who came back as soon as Kai arrived.
Samurai Jack actually rose from a low Family Guy rerun before it (1275 M). Now that's really impressive!
Dragon Ball Super may have had a drop because it's episode has already aired earlier in the night, so viewers may not want to watch the same thing over again.
And wow, for a five minute episode, Sand Whale and Me took quite a drop after Super. I find it hilarious that the ratings went straight to normal once Kai started.
Woah! Family Guy under 1.5? Who could have imagined?
This was definitely a stronger week all around.
Wow DBZ Kai saw a little more than Super.
DBZ Kai is flat out beating Super this time. Having reruns early in the block is not that great am idea I think. When Attack on Titan and Space Dandy had reruns early on, they didn't do all too well all things considered. I'd love to see numbers from Super at 8pm. Maybe I should look those up.
Top 25 ratings are in. April fool's killed ratings. Casuals probably thought Toonami wasn't airing at all when they tuned in expecting Samurai Jack.
Tokyo Ghoul: 601,000
Gundam Unicorn 548,000
they said the rick and morty stunt's ratings went up each half hour peaking at 949,000 at 11pm..
Ouch. Maybe Adult Swim should've left Jack alone and just played the prank for Super.
12:00a Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters 864 0.40 511
12:25a Sand Whale and Me 826 0.41 520
12:30a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure 679 0.32 416
1:00a Tokyo Ghoul 601 0.29 368
1:30a Hunter X Hunter 593 0.29 372
2:00a Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 548 0.27 352
2:30a Naruto: Shippuden 583 0.28 359
3:00a Ghost in the Shell (r) 492 0.25 326
That's not a small drop between Jojo and Tokyo Ghoul.
I think that AF's prank really did take a big bite out of the numbers.
While this weekend was also a busy one in terms of sports (Final Four, Wrestlemania), I do agree that with the main rating grabbers for Toonami being pre-emptied by the April Fool's prank, those who already watched the Rick and Morty episode earlier in the night decided to pass on the other shows that night.
It's pretty small. Especially when compared to the drop from Kai/Sand Whale to JoJo.
