    Cool. These are mostly serialized, broken into chunks, reprints of the Marvel Star Wars comic reprinted by Marvel UK, but apparently there are some original stories.

    It lasted more than 155 issues. It's a continuation of previous Star Wars series from Marvel UK, all told there were more than 300 issues. Part of what led to such a high number was that they apparently published only half an issue of the American comic at a time.

    Here's a description of what's going on in that issue. The American cover sure lacks in the weirdness department.

    Platonically, but that scenario actually happened once, with Supergirl's "exact duplicate" from another planet.

    We also find out that Superman would be all for marrying his teenage cousin it if wasn't for that pesky law (of a dead planet) getting in the way. Only thing holding him back.

    It's not a comic book technically; it's a collection of cartoons from "Puck" magazine, a 19th century American humor magazine. Cartoons, of course, go back quite a ways before "The Yellow Kid". (Yellow Kid came in the mid-1890s.)

    GCD :: Cover :: Ben 10 #1
    Hey, IDW has the Ben 10 license. This must mean DC doesn't want to withhold the rights to comics based on its parent company's properties anymore.

    If only the same were true about Marvel and Star Wars.

    Both covers are cool! I like the Omniverse design.
    But the design on the right is more animesque. Almost as if it looked like the original show.

    Based on what Dan Didio told me, DC doesn't have full control over the comic rights to other Time Warner properties. I asked him about doing a new TTA/A! Comic, and he said that WB Consumer Products would make that choice, not DC. Likewise, I read that according to Joe Quesada, Disney Publishing would be the decision-maker concerning Disney Afternoon comics being released through Marvel, perhaps it's the same way with Star Wars (though I obviously don't know all the details).

    You're looking at a Doctor Strange cover that uses Amy Grant's face.

    [IMG]

    Yes. It's Amy Grant's face. She sued.

    I don't know if this was by accident, or what. If it was on purpose, then why?

    It's from the "no fs given" school of design.

    You actually see this all the time in comic books, so the lawsuit was a rare occurence. I mean, John Constantine is Sting. His early appearances were just an excuse to draw Sting.

    Maybe it was really, uh, the ghost of Benedict Arnold? "DC Comics salutes the bicentennial!" ;-)
