the first beach boys album released in the wake of beatlemania. a better effort than their last album little deuce coupe. the production and song writing sounds like it's being pick up right where they left off on surfer girl two albums before. unfortunately in this case, the fillers, covers, and instrumental tracks make this a lesser album when compared to surfer girl. i would be more interested in a REAL "brian vs mike" track from the mid 60s to the 70s than this scripted novelty track. i also prefer the single version of "fun fun fun".
