This one should not be missed. Its pretty much going to be the only way we'll ever get to see this universe's take on the classic team-up of Harley and Ivy!

I might have to start buying The Batman Strikes! :) I'm pondering getting issue 43, anyway. Now this issue was a lot of fun. The interplay between Harley and Ivy wasn't fully convincing, but it was amusing. Ivy's maturity and Harley's immaturity was quite funny, considering that Ivy is 17 or 18 and Harley is in her early to mid-20s. I liked the fact that they clashed a lot, something that can definitely happen here because the older one is more insane.

The art was amazing! It was better than in any of the three JLU issues I own and it was actually maybe a little better than Teen Titans Go! I've got to say; I loved the part with the mannequins. Timm-verse Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, Joker, Roxy Rocket, Jonah Hex... and B:TAS Catwoman? The Magneto helmet, along with Maxie Zeus's helmet from this series was cool too.

Harley and Robin were actually very funny in places... I laughed out loud at a few of their wisecracks. I haven't seen season 5 yet, but I don't think there was any Robin/Gordon interaction in season 4, so it was nice to have some here.

I must point out one or two things from the letters section. It seems that one or two people are calling for Batgirl's removal. I don't approve, but I think having her as an occasional guest star might work better. Also, the letters guy thinks that Robin is in his late teens. I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous. Does that mean Teen Titans Robin is in his 20s?

Anyway, great issue. I couldn't really hear Ivy's voice from TB in my head though; I kept hearing B:TAS Ivy. It took a lot of focus, but eventually I was able to hear TB Harley.

    Pick this one up, people!

This issue looks promising. TB Harley, while not B:TAS quality, is always fun to have around, and TB Ivy is generally more interesting than most versions of the character, her appearances in The Batman Strikes really showcase this. Can't wait to see for myself how these two versions "get along". :p

The Harley/Ivy chemistry was very strong here. The only problem I had was the lack of the Joker. Maxie Zeus wrote in his review for "Harley and Ivy" that the "will they/won't they" subplot between Harley and Joker sustained the episode and saved it from merely being an episodic female gang tale. Still, that was an episode and this is a 20 page comic, and this one gets top marks for what it was able to do in 20 pages.

Actually, he said "late tweens," meaning 10-12. I misread it the first time, too.

Thanks! I love writing both characters. I hear their voices very clearly in my head when I write their dialogue, and I think I understand their movements and mannerisms very well.

I have another Ivy script in the can and ready to be drawn that's unlike ANYTHING we've seen in the series so far!

    Guys,

The reaction to Batman Strikes #41 has really been wonderful, here and elsewhere -- and I just wanted to say "thanks" again.

Be sure to check out my upcoming issues. I've got four or five ready to come out this year and in early 2009, with more to come!

    <<did you by chance right a team-up issue>>

Hrm. I've written one hero teamup issue for STRIKES that should see print later this year, and I'm actually about to start writing another one starring a different ally.

But that's all I can say right now!

I say bring it on, most of Ivy's appearances in this comic series have been awesome so far, and if what you say is true, this is just begging to be published!

    To answer a few questions:

Ivy is a teenager in THE BATMAN and BATMAN STRIKES.

Secondly, Josh Elder has written Strikes #44, which features Superman.
