Amusing. I think Reeves also replaced a director for Planet of the Apes? Hmm, so if he does sign -- War for the Planet of the Apes comes out in July so in theory -- production on Batman could start in Fall-Winter this year.

It does make me curious if Aquaman won't be the only DCEU movie in 2018. Would WB try to push it out for 2018 since they seem to be in no hurry to get The Flash back on track?

And yes, Matt Reeves replaced Rupert Wyatt on Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I highly recommend that anyone who hasn't watched either Rise or Dawn of the Planet of the Apes watch them, even if you've never seen Planet of the Apes before. Both movies are excellent in their own way. Just makes me more excited for War of the Planet of the Apes and the upcoming Batman movie.

I guess it comes to who's more far along at point x when the schedule of releases is revised again by the suits.

2/13: Ridley Scott and Fede Alvarez are WB's back up choices for director.

Keep in mind that they're rumours. Take it with a grain of salt.

Sounds pretty fake -- jump on the bandwagon of real news.

He still has to finish out his contract, however long it is. Viola Davis signed for 3 films, which may include 'Suicide Squad'. Notice we haven't heard of her yet in JL or anything else. Affleck may have more, but I doubt he will stick around for a JL sequel.

Actually, the Justice League sequel is still happening but it's been postponed, so yeah, there's still a possible chance of him departing.

I'm really don't want to see this happen so soon, as in him leaving.

Can't believe Affleck would still be so butthurt over BvS that he would resign. Batman would never give up... or?

Well, I think the failure of Live by Night is what led him to drop out of directing The Batman and as rumours said, considering to drop out of playing Batman after Justice League.

It's to his advantage. He's coming off work on a Planet of the Apes movie. He doesn't need to jump into another franchise right away. They have to dangle a better carrot probably. But it's common for negotiations to stall. No big deal, imo.

Are you guys seriously blaming Affleck? This is much bigger than him, it is the Studio heads to blame. That is why directors are dropping from Flash, rewrites are happening, and Affleck is fed up. At first it looked like Snyder and wife were responsible, but hindsight is 20/20. I just hope Wonder Woman and the films forward will not be destroyed by the suits. Though rumors suggests unfortunate same-o same-o for WW.

Reeves is out? Too bad, he's a very talented and underrated director. Man oh man, this DCEU behind the scenes stuff is becoming comedic. I don't know if Affleck really wants out, but I kind of can't blame him at this point.
