I'm hoping it's a "prequel". I'm most interested to see the events that led to Batman retiring. Of course, in order to do that, they would have to (LEGITIMATELY) do Robin. Unfortunately, I'm convinced I'm never ever going to see Robin (legitimately) done in a live action Batman for the rest of my life.

Well technically Argo was also a movie that starred and was directed by the same guy... and that was Ben Affleck. Granted there's a difference between doing a drama and a major super hero blockbuster and I also admittedly am not a fan of Argo but... I would trust Ben Affleck more then Zack Snyder in telling a Batman story especially if a lot of the things Bruce did in B v S were things Affleck wasn't cool with. So if he had his own storyline he could go with it wherever he wanted iI could see that working for a Batman story especially as it wouldn't just be an origin story again and be a more fantastical Batman then we've likely seen before free from Schumacher camp or Nolan trying to be gritty seriousness.

Affleck is a great director (sure only three films but three great films out of three is better then some people) so if he's directing a Batman film I'm in.

I've only seen The Town and that was okay. My first choice to do this Batman is David Fincher. Based on his visual style.

Rumor about the content of the movie. Don't expect "Under the Red Hood" but
That sounds cool but I'm still interested in Red Hood at some point even though some would argue it shares similarities to Daredevil season 2 or whatever else.

Well, with a veteran established Batman, you do have the opportunity to use all the Rogues Gallery or at least acknowledge they exist, even if you might run the risk of too many villains spoiling the whole pot :ack:.

It's one thing to have a lot of villains in a comic storyline or video games like the Arkham series, it's another altogether for a movie .

Though when they say "sprawling Bat universe," I think more BatFamily then just the Rogues, so it would be interesting to see what they do with that :).

Indeed, but this is a first time opportunity to make a movie with the lore already established. No intro/origin movies for each villain that could appear... and it's a premise that's been explored in animation, mostly with Arkham Asylum as the story beat. But if they mix in something like the format of "The Raid" in there for the fights, a little bit of it was in BvS imo, I'd be all in for it.

Let me just say that I hope it doesn't turn out to be like "The Dark Knight" universe...*

*I refuse to call it the "DC Cinematic Universe", because let's face it. We all know that it's a deconstruction of the DC universe, even by its' standards. I mean, the Batman vs. Superman movie having an R-rated cut? It simply can't be anything else...

I am hoping there is merit to each of the villains appearances. After the laughable inclusion of the other Justice League members in BVS, I hope they have a better plan than a 3 second appearance, or a fantastically useless, inexplicable cameo.

I have diary in Affleck. Johns, not so much.

I hope the C-listers get their 15 seconds of fame as well the big guns.
SIGNALMAN, CAT-MAN, CALENDAR MAN, KILLER MOTH, DR. DOUBLE X, PROF. MILO, and others
deserve a bar fight scene like they did in "A Bat Divided" for B:TB&TB.

Affleck says to expect an original story with certain things borrowed from comics.

As long that I get Nightwing teaming up with Batman in the next Batman movie I'm good.

I've seen this said elsewhere, but this sounds like basically every comic book movie ever :p.

Well, let's hope WB isn't desperate enough for a Batman solo that they rush him and Johns on the script .

Still WB are really doing alot right now, moving up Wonder Woman and making a Batman movie and are doing everything to make them redeemable, to hear Affleck calm in this situation makes me a little more confident that they probably got this.

I still really care for a shared universe involving Batman for film. Though now we should get the more scifi rogues like Clayface.
