Board James returns to take a look at a game from the makers of HeroQuest, Battle Masters.
It's that time of the year!
Bible Games 3!
Friggin' AWESOME! The Bible Games episodes are some of my absolute favorite Nerd videos, so just hearing about a third one is making me hyped! I'm going to enjoy every minute of this!
I'm grateful for any new Nerd episodes since James is pretty much entirely focused on the AVGN movie now, but this episode was still a disappointment. Few new games reviewed for all means and purposes, and he went over some of the same points as his first Bible Games review (how strong Noah is, for instance). I got a few laughs but this was a big step down from last year's How the Nerd Stole Christmas, which was much more ambitious and creative.
Thinking about it though the Christmas episodes have been rather hit and miss. I mean the second Bible Games and Winter games (outside of it's ending) weren't really anything that great either. I guess James wanted to make sure he covered ALL the games people probably told him he missed from previous Bible Games so there wouldn't be a fourth one. I did like some jokes like him looking for *ss in the King James literal bible game, pointing out the different animal speices in the noah game, saying that the Joseph game is the only technical christmas game he covered in bible games and getting to use holy s-word. Eh not the strongest episode but it's an okay end of this... well rather lackluster AVGN nerd year outside of the 100th episode, the crossoever with Pat the NES Punk and I guess the Star Wars episode. I know he's focusing more on the movie but that defintley does make the quality suffer in the case of the actual reviews.
The frustrating this is, there are still some BIble games out there that he didn't touch, such as "Captain Bible in Dome of Darkness", or "Bible Builder". Granted, those are PC games, but still, he's reviewed C64 games, so I don't see why those would be off-limits. Unless he doesn't own a PC, of course.
Not only that, but he could've tackled some of the modern Bible games, like "Adam's Venture", "The Bible Game", "Left Behind: Eternal Forces", and the Dance Dance Revolution-style games. They're less his territory since they're newer, but still, if he didn't want to make a Bible Games 4...
AVGN Vol. 5 is here. I still haven't gotten around to buying any of these.

James will be living in LA for the next six months to shoot the movie (it'll apparently take that long). Plus: It's a Boo in a box!
While he's away, guess who's stepped out of the shadows for the first time to answer your questions? It's Mrs. Nerd!

He really should have saved this for an actual AVGN episode. It would have been hilarious to see the Nerd try to get that thing to work; even better than the 5200 review.
He keeps saying 'Intendo. That's made me furious since I was 10.
It's been a wild, long ride, and while it's not at the limit yet, time to close shop. New location,
