You guys are so dead.
Well...of course Javeman has the advantage...
I just submitted mine on time too. I'm just patiently waiting...
I don't get it, what advantage does he have?
Excluding me, I hope.
For a guy who CAME IN FOURTH, you seem pretty cocky.
For all who participated, the legs took place in his home country...so he would know at least most of the answers.
You just gave away the country.
Congrats to the six teams that have already checked in; as for the other six, keep on trucking. You'll make it, I know you will.
YEAH BOY! Three in a row! UH HUH UH HUH UH HUH!
[/does the happy dance]
Quit it! You're embarrassing me!
Lighten up girl, this is supposed to be a party! DRINKS ARE ON ME!
Hallelujah,I've finally arrived at the Pit Stop! *celebrates*
And people laugh when I drink.
Don't hate me cuz of the global coordinates...
Why would we? That was the easy part!
The Earth of Google helped me.
Okay... we've tried this week using Tim's new system for answer submissions...
...and it's no different than prior... so, now, instead of teams racing around trying to find the answers in time, we have everyone getting the answers ready, making sure they are correct and then sitting on the board, doing a Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve Style countdown to the allotted time at which they close their eyes and push submit... this completely gets rid of any skill required to find answers, crack codes, etc. It turns the game into a challenge of "Who can be at their computer at the right time" ...quite frankly, it's worse than before. No skill... just dumb luck.
I must be the only person using an actual atlas for this game. And if y'all saw this friggin thing, how horrible it is, and how much it flippin weighs, you'd give me extra points out of sympathy.
I wouldn't call it only luck. There's still a need for some element of intelligence. But, it is a bit nerve-wracking when I have to leave work early to rush home to get online, when my partner isn't able to do so. And I know my team isn't the only to have this sort of issue.
Personally, I liked the idea Dalek suggested to me earlier about having checkpoints released randomly throughout the week.
I have to agree, it's now just a contest of "who's quicker on the button."
Quick suggestion: (Sorry, Tim, you probably don't want to hear any more suggestions) Only release Checkpoint A to this board. When a team gets Checkpoint A correct, send them Checkpoint B clues -- on your own time, whenever you check your PMs to get the answers. And so forth. That way, maybe teams could catch up if they're not so quick on the first two checkpoints...
We're cutting it too close. Way too close.
