Gaga performance was awesome as always. Cee Lo Green with Gwyneth Paltrow and Eminem were great too. I was surprise by some of the winners. Never heard from Arcade Fire before so I don't know if they deserve it. Anyway it was an okay show.

You know, I want to be one of the cool kids and hate Gywneth Paltrow, but dammit, she just makes it so hard. What with the being kinda awesome and having a sense of humor about herself and all.

    Pretty okay show this year.

Of course, CBS won the night last night.

Well, the Bieber fans weren't happy that he didn't win Best New Artist. They hijacked Esperanza Spalding's Wikipedia page and told her that she should die. Classy as always, Bieber fans.

Arcade Fire is one of the best bands in existence right now, and is one of the best of all time, IMO.

Although, their 2004 album Funeral is my favorite of theirs.

Real Bieber fans or just trolls looking to stir crap up? The world will never know.

I dunno man. They seemed pretty crappy to me. If you have to have BMX bikes doing "sweet stunts" on the stage during your performance, maybe the song ain't that good. And you shouldn't have hired Napoleon Dynamite to do choreography.:D

They're not for everyone, I'll admit.

But I've loved them ever since I heard "Wake Up" used as walk-on music by U2 on their Vertigo Tour.

And now they'll be opening for U2 in Moncton, New Brunswick July 30. I'd love to see them together.

Okay, I thought the opening Aretha Franklin tribute was awesome.

Loved Lady Gaga's "Born This Way". I'll admit, I'm not really a fan of her crazy outfits, but damn does she have a great voice.

Loved Muse's performance of Uprising. In addition to liking the song, the pyrotechnics were pretty cool, as were the screen effects.

Not really into rap or hiphop, so can't really say much on "Nothin' on You". But I thought Grenade was a pretty awesome throwback, and Janelle's "Cold War" was pretty cool.

This is my first time hearing Justin Bieber and...I was dissapointed. Given all the love and hate, I was expecting he'd be one of those polarizing eccentric types, not Kids' Bop. Didn't care for Usher's piece, either.

Lady Antebellum was great, but given all the awards they got, I kind of hoped they'd perform the full version of "Need You Now".

"Forget You" was pure awesomesauce. It felt like watching the Muppet Show all over again. Even the song itself had that sort of sound you might hear on the show.

I also have to say, I really did not care for Arcade Fire's performance.

I heard about this on Inside Edition. I think these kids are, well, kids. They're so immature and don't know that there will always be someone better than some of the musical acts we have today. I think they should take chill pills and calm down. They can see Bieber dance on the big screen if they're still feeling sore for him not getting a Grammy.

Um... no. Arcade Fire is one of the most acclaimed alternative bands; they're pretty much the next Radiohead in terms of achieving a measure of mainstream success based on their critical and fan adoration. You don't have to like them but maybe you should do a little more research before making such an erroneous comparison.

I don't watch these ceremonies but I'm happy for Arcade Fire's victory.

    I say, I say, I say, that's a joke, that's a joke son. :)

No, I get that they're like Radio Head but not nearly as good. It's clear.

Frankly, I'd rather have a porn star win an Oscar than have Bieber win a Grammy. But that's, ya know, Me.

You know how people complain about the Oscars always going to really obscure, arty movies? Well, the Grammys are the exact opposite, they always go to big giant radio acts. They usually reward the stupidest things ever. The Grammys usually tend to highlight why I don't listen to much modern music, 99% of it is audio cancer.

But they surprised me this time.

Arcade Fire won the Grammy for best album, they are the first indie act to ever do that. It's stunning. It's the biggest upset I can ever recall in Grammy history, and it helps that Arcade Fire are brilliant.

Yes, I am still stunned. In an era where the most popular music is horrible enough to make me want to fall into a bucket of AIDS and crack my head open, this makes me happy.

Maybe they were just having a really terrible night, then? Their performances were the worst on the show.

Also, I think Esperanza Spalding snatching the Grammy from the Biebs like it was a big ole' lollypop was a bigger upset. From what I understand Arcade Fire is huge with hipsters and pretentious people who hang out at Starbucks, but no one had heard of her. :)

I think this is kind of bad for Arcade Fire, though, honestly. Now that they are Grammy-winning sellouts the hipsters and scene kids are honor-bound to abandon them. You can't both rebel and suck at the fat Grammy teat. The Stooges never won a damn Grammy. They probably would have urinated on it if they had.

Just so there's no misunderstanding, not all of this is meant to be taken deadly seriously. Cept the stuff about the Stooges.

I can't remember the last time I watched the Grammys. I did this year and after becoming used to how the Emmys and Oscars are structured, I was somewhat surprised to see so many performances and what felt like few awards. I suppose it's not a surprise that the music award show would have a lot more performances, but it really felt like the balance was off. I'm not able to compare, so I'm sure that's just how it is.

I just have one comment on the show for right now. I thought it was ridiculous how Will & Jada Smith were in every other shot for the very brief amount of time Jaden Smith was on stage with Justin Bieber. Jaden was a featured performer in the Bieber-Usher performance and in those moments, it seemed to be all about him. I don't have Bieber Fever (though I don't think he deserves to be treated like an infection), but that just didn't make sense to me.

Will Smith was all over the awards. They kept cutting to him smiling or slapping somebody on the back or whatever. It's like it was a "Very Will Smith Grammys."

    Not nearly as good?

They're better than freakin' Radiohead, one of the most overrated bands ever.
