Part 1 of the season 1 finale airs today!

After Splinter vanished in "Return to New York", the Turtles have begun a search for him, they find the Guardians, who are somehow involved.

Raph's gone to hothead mode again.

Nice chase scene between Raph and the robber.

    Gotta love the sais-in-the-engine.

That was an awesome scene with the Guardian finding the Shredder alive.

That's a rather obvious place for a tracker...

Hehe, the turtle cam is funny looking.

I keep thinking TGRI from the 2nd movie.

For some reason, the camera getting destroyed was funny.

Nice to see April taking an active role.

Yay! Casey! Gotta love him. "My life is in the hands of a lunatic."

Did she just say TMNT University? :D

Gotta love the antics of Raph & Casey.

I agree with Mikey on that one. Pidgeot puppet or picture actually working.

    Gotta love blue fireballs.

This is an interesting turn of events. Instead of finding Splinter the Turtles might find their origin.

For a minute there I thought the Shredder was back.

This is a neat twist to the fact that the origin of the ooze might not be from Earth.

My only quibble is for a security room it seems to be lacking a lock to keep people out.

Excellent episode. Interesting, funny, and even unpredictable! I'm glad it wasn't so easy to get inside the building; I honestly didn't expect a fake vent. Casey Jones' scenes were really funny ("It says 'RITC'... in crayon, sir."), as was Mike's line about the fact that Donatello carries a pigeon puppet.

And are those Utroms in the next episode preview?!

so the aliens are pink gumdrops? :p
perhaps there's a renegade named Krang (not likely)

another good ep, hothead raph: awesome
neat to see more of Donnie's techno-savvy: the remote turtle cam, the turle-glass cutter. Maybe Mikey's not the only on drawing inspiration from comic books. Don has the TMNT geared up like the Batman.

Bringing back memories of TNMT: 2 Secret of the Ooze...minus Vanilla Ice, of course.

Hotheaded Raphael sure doesn't take any guff, does he? :) The pigeon puppet thing was amusing, I agree. I also enjoyed the Casey Jones scenes. Also great to see April in top form.

Pretty good episode with some unexpected twists. Casey's RITC bit was genuinely funny, as was using the pidgeon puppet and photo to fake the camera out. The way into the building wasn't as easy as in most shows, and that made it more rewarding (well, the turtles haven't gotten in yet). And yea, I was fooled by the Shredder too - actually I thought it was one of his mutant clones, since the helmet looked slightly off. But it wasn't until they showed the "kick me" sign that I realized what was going on.

Only unnecessary bit? Raph chasing the carjacker. If I remember, the whole point of the previous filler was to establish Raph being a hothead and getting carried away in his search for Splinter. At the end of that episode he realizes the importance of keeping his cool. They either should've dropped that episode completely, or shortened the extended car chase. And the segue into the Guardians was off. It's taken them weeks to realize that the guardians might have taken Splinter...?

Still, good ep. Though it's all exposition, and the real fun comes next week. Hopefully all the whiners will shut up now about Krang not appearing on the show.

BTW: Is it TCRI or TGRI?

There was only one thing that bugs me.

"You had reported the Shredder destroyed."

OK, 4Kids you can show Shredder get decapitated, but you can't say dead?

That, BTW, was a direct lift from the original comic.

And to judge from the previews, what they find inside the building is gonna be pretty close to the original, too!

Hehe, I'm glad to see a fellow Pokemon fan forget the differences between Pokemon and animals. :D

Anyways, I taped the episode this morning, and I'm off to watch it. *Will edit this post when I return*

This was an all around great episode. Lots of suspence, humor, and twists. It was also great to see Casey and April involved in the process.

My favorite exchange, which I'm suprised nobody mentioned:

Leo: "We'll need someone who's technosavy and who can enter the building and disable the alarms."

    Mike (excited): "Me!"

    Leo: "No."

    :):):)

You know, that one bothered me too, now that you mention it. As did that bit at the beginning where they're going over Splinter's fate, and Mikey (I think) trails off before he can say "dead." Though in that instance it might just have been the script and not any network censoring.

And thanks for clearing up the TCRI/TGRI bit for me, guys. Just wondered why they would rename it for the movie, unless it was because the company was now run by real humans instead of aliens (hence, no "cosmic").

You know, sometimes synonyms are used for no apparent reason. There's not always a motivation behind it.

    Although there could have been.

If I remember correctly, the same thing was going through my mind, and someone else talked about Splinter being "dead" just seconds later.
