The opening is 2D, but the show is still 3D with seven different storylines. That's why it's called Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's telling different tales or stories with the characters. So season 5 is a different spin which we've seen in the previous Turtles shows.
In 2018, there will be a new series currently titled Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 2D and unrelated to the current series.

There was a commercial showing the new dragon villain and that was still in CG, so no the 5th season isn't gonna be in 2D.

Thank you everyone! Makes sense. Kinna excited on a new spin, but I'm assuming the FINALE of Season 4 will actually be like the finale for the whole series considering the rest is anthology style

    It's not just TMNT 2012...

A LOT of shows are doing that

(e.g Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: LMD, Captain Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins: Toy Hospital, Liv and Maddie: Cali Style, etc)

This bothers me too since it gives people the illusion that these are spinoffs as opposed to new seasons!

It only works for anime since that's how it's structured

Disney's doing the same thing with Mickey and the Roadster Racers which premiered in January of this year!

Maybe they're doing it as a "self-sabotage" attempt like they want to purposely sabotage the show

    (or even their ENTIRE channel!)

What better way to kill your show then releasing it on DVD BEFORE airing it on TV?

It's not really anything new, The Real Ghostbusters was renamed Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters towards the end of the series.

This really does seem like an alternative season of the series from this trailer. I find it so interesting that the animated Turtles shows have so much in common from reaching over 100 episodes, becoming hits with their target audiences, and having unique final seasons.

I really like this season's scope and seeing Miyamoto Usagi is a treat since I didn't expect to see him in this show. I guess that's another thing all three animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shows have done. Hopefully the samurai story-arc is better here than in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 (no hate towards that movie, though). :D

My local Wal-Mart already had copies of the new TMNT DVD out on shelves this morning. Keep your eyes peeled as maybe yours will too. I'm going to jump right to the four unseen episodes from season five and I'm really looking forward to it.

Yeah, I think I will be skipping this and pretending this isn't a thing. For me the show ended with S4. This "new season" is somewhat unnecessary and the more I see from it the more I think it's being made just to maintain the Turtles momentum before the new series launches next year. At the very best, I'm willing to treat S5 as a spin-off. It really is giving off a Tomb Raider Chronicles vibe. That's the best comparison I can make and it really is weird.

Hey folks, I'll have the talkback for the fifth season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles posted up early tomorrow morning. I've seen the first four episodes of the new season and I can say they are well worth checking out!

And you can not even slightly spoil the plot of the episodes? Too bad...

Spoilers are more than welcome here, as long as they're properly tagged. What isn't cool is inquiring about when and where episodes will be available to watch illegally. Keep that away from here. But, again, spoilers are more than welcome as long as they're posted in spoiler tags. Hopefully this clears things up.

Hi! Will you publish any images for a closer look at the package and menu system of 'Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady'?
