I thought that this episode was okay. It felt like forever since Team Rocket made an attempt to capture Pikachu or even confronted Ash and his friends. While Lycanroc's Z-Move failed, Kiawe was able to use Turtunator and save Pikachu. I loved how Team Rocket were expecting Bewear to show up only to panic when they finally got an Alola blast off. Mimikyu's cloth being torn would be pretty dangerous for Jessie or anyone else to see what Mimikyu really looks like.

It was kind of cute to see Jessie dress up Mimikyu right after getting her own dress. She would have fun dressing up more than Mimikyu would. James and Meowth going from being worried about Jessie to panicking when they realized she was near a shopping mall with all of their money was pretty funny.

The notion that Lycanroc had too much power and was trying too hard to make it Z-Move work made sense as a reason as to why it couldn't use it. We only saw a couple of the characters actually training while the others watch, but Ash, Kiawe and to a lesser extent Lana seem to be the most battle active of the group too.

While Mimikyu is more angry and scary than fans would have expected to when the series began, the way it acted when the kids were playing with the big balloon Pikachu showed that it wanted that kind of love and attention too. Jessie offering to fix Mimkyu's cloth was nice. She didn't understand why it wanted to look like Pikachu, but she knew that it made Mimikyu happy, so it wanted to help. It was a surprisingly nice moment, especially when Jessie is often so cold and mean. The Murkrow getting their food again was too much for Jessie and she got it back, even though messed up her dress a bit in the process.

Meowth keeps seeing what Mimikyu really looks, be near death and then come back. I believe that they edited part of the gag again, but it was much less jarring this time if that was the case. While they got rid of the Murkrow pretty easily, there was a bit more teamwork and bonding between Jessie and Mimikyu. I thought that meant that it would attack other Pokemon, but it still got too upset at Pikachu again. Ash and Lycanroc were able to use their new Z-Move to blast them off only for Bewear to get them.

Overall, it was a pretty good episode. It was nice to get some Team Rocket focus when they barely appeared during the Akala Island arc. Plus, it provided some surprisingly sweet moments between Jessie and Mimikyu. I didn't think that it was a good fit to give Jessie a Mimikyu, but they work together much better than I expected. I kind of wish that Lycanroc mastering its new Z-Move wasn't the B-plot though. Granted, Lycanroc did just evolve in the previous episode and had the bulk of attention during the Grand Trial, so three episodes in a row where it was the main focus probably would have been too much. Even so, it felt like it should have taken more than just practicing some moves for awhile or at least take longer than one episode. It could have tied into how no one really knows anything about Dusk Lycanroc or how it can use its new powers, but it was a fairly easy solution to the problem.

Nice to see Team Rocket again, and people's theories on Mimikyu (that its species is as much resentful of Pikachu as it is villainous) were proved true.
