"Expert slicer"? Is that a gambling term or a swordsman term?

    Laura Dern's in this?

I'm not used to seeing people I know in Star Wars movies. :p

You never knew of Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman, or Ewan McGregor before Episode 1?

Yup. Hope she's got thick skin cause I'm pretty sure she'll get undeserved flack for replacing Leia when in reality she's not.

Actually, I was 11 when Phantom Menace came out so no. I know I saw Mars Attacks! at one point, so I think I might have known who Natalie Portman was. I wouldn't have been watching Trainspotting, though. XD But I can tell you I was scared to death of the movie Darkman as a kid (not sure why), and I wouldn't have been old enough to understand Schindler's List to know who Liam Neeson was.

Well, it's nice to know some parents kept their kids safe from some viewing.

Dern really hasn't ever been a huge star. She is riding on dad's name and made two notable films Jurassic Park and Wild at Heart, but only recently got an Oscar nom. I personally never thought she was a good actress and steered away from her then even till today. So it took about 20 yrs to gain some cred.

Does anyone remember the old title "Forces of Destiny" before it was officially revealed as "The Last Jedi"?

Well, it turns out it IS a real Star Wars project. It's not Episode VIII, though.

    No more Jedi's.

The demise of the old Extended Universe is now complete.

Feel like screaming "No Luke, you're supposed to marry Mara Jade, don't you give up on me!"

    (still awesome trailer though)!

I'm pretty sure "it's time for the Jedi to end" is referring to the ways of the old Jedi order and not the actual Jedi themselves.

Well, from what little I know of Star Wars lore "Jedi" was just a sect of force-users. If you know anything about religion, you know there are multiple denominations, and they end up having schisms. The Jesuits were once a strong sect within the Catholic Church, but ended being disbanded politically as well as just dying (ref: Scorcese 'The Silence'.). I read that in Star Wars they have other sects of force-users besides the Jedi. So that is pretty much what I assume is going to happen.

That could be one way that Disney makes this their franchise. It would be a bold move to just start a new order of force users.

Disagree. As others have said, I think this is Disney moving away from "Jedi vs. Sith".

If anyone here remembers the "Matrix" trilogy, I think this is basically setting up a similar type plotline, with Neo needing to break the cycle of the "Chosen Ones", and bring balance to the war between the machines and the humans. The comparison here being the centuries old battle between the Sith and Jedi (Luke Skywalker is the Last Jedi, and he needs Rey to break the cycle).

    Just my theory though...
