Thanks to promotional events leading up to the release of the Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain DVDs, new photos of Tom Ruegger have finally emerged....like here on Earl Kress's blog.

And here on Takineko's RJ article (hey Tak, you gonna post here or what?)

And THIS is what he looked like in my interview illustration.

Yeah, now I've been caught. I fudged it.

I didn't have any photo to go on last January, so I had to look at a caricature of Ruegger from a Tiny Toons episode and age it 16 years. Unless that's Just for Men on his head, I aged him too much.

The newly revealed Ruegger is wide-eyed and wide-grinned--kind of like Freakazoid in real life, which I guess is fitting. The illustration has been altered now to fix the error:

What's most odd about this is that when Ruegger had a look at my rough draft for part 1, he found about a billion errors (which embarrassed me to no end) yet he never mentioned a thing about this. I suppose that's actually good--if he'd mentioned this too I would have died right there. The weight of meeting such a huge influence in my life didn't sink in until I started losing face in front of him over and over. And as you can see, it's not over yet.

The happy thing is that fresh pics of everyone else were also released on the same day in the same blog, so when I find some of the others this mistake won't happen twice. And incidentally, whenever I find Sherri Stoner, I want her illustration to look like this:
