Awww, Nobodyman beat me to it. I first learned about the news on Google News.

Guess he and Michael Jackson are gonna rock the streets of gold in Heaven now. Bye-bye, Prince.

That is really sad news. I never listened to too many of his songs, but he was a huge figure in the music industry and had impact on a lot of people. It's just a sudden death and at a fairly young age. I hope that he is at peace and that his family and friends will be okay.

MTV is playing Prince music videos. One of the rare times you'll see actual music on the channel.

Honestly when I was younger I thought Prince and Michael Jackson where the same person, until Michaels death and after then I was growing to Prince and listened to some of his music, but wow this death really shocked me, its a shame to see him have difficulties with the flu, Farewell Prince.

Wooooooow, really shocking, and really sad news, Prince was the best awesome classic singer ever for the music industry, I enjoyed some of his awesome classic songs, and his awesome guest appearances in Muppets Tonight/New Girl.Rest In Peace Prince, you'll be missed next to Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Left Eye of TLC, Barry White, Gwen Guthrie, David Bowie, Heavy D, and Luther Vandross among the awesome classic singers I'll miss:crying::crying:.

Oh my god, i heard this news at school today, and It's sad truth that people like him can die at anytime and all we can do is mourn his loss. On another note there's a guy at the high school where I go to named Prince and mostly everybody knew that Person well than the other Prince (the singer.) and they thought it was the Prince that goes to my High School, that goes to show how much the students care for that guy.

There was one video of his, "Alphabet Street", that came out when I was five. I think it quite literally taught me the alphabet.

If you're too young to remember, you'd probably have to watch it.

It really took me by surprise when I got a text telling me that he passed away. It was some seriously unexpected and unwanted news. I wasn't the biggest die-hard fan in the world or anything but he was one of those artists that did have a big effect on me. It's a sad day.

TV channels like BET and VH1 are currently playing music videos honoring Prince. A rare treat, but what a sad reason doing so.

Not only that, but MTV was playing music videos all day! The second the news was confirmed, they halted regular programming and went to a loop of Prince videos and his film Purple Rain. As much as I disagree with their choice in programming sometime, they deserve props for that.

I'm willing to bet thousands of underage ears have heard "Darling Nikki" for the first time today, both on radio stations and MTV, who are leaving it fully unedited as far as I know. Tipper Gore is probably having a meltdown somewhere.

This one stings. Not sure what else can be said, he was a great musician, but that goes without saying. I've enjoyed all the stories of Prince coming out, like him renting out Carlos Boozer's house, remodeled it to fit his lifestyle for like a week and then paid to have it turned exactly back the way it was before. Also still my favorite Superbowl performance.
