The voice of Dexter and Gosalyn Mallard passed away a week ago at the age of 51.
What the.....crud, that's early.
So much for her ever returning to the voice acting business. Until now, there was always a chance.
Wow. It is a huge shame indeed. She had played many of my favorite characters growing up and her voice was always a delight. May she rest in peace.
What the bleep was up with all the deaths this year!? We've lost all these great performers, and now you tell me that the voice of Chuckie, Dexter, and Gosalyn is dead?
It's official. This. Year. Sucked.
That's really sad news to hear. I'm guessing that Ms. Cavanaugh must have been sick, since 51 is too young to die of natural causes. She retired from voice acting years ago, but I hope that she at least led a fulfilling life. It's a shame that it was so short.
Whether or not Ms. Cavanugh ever returned to voice acting or stayed retired, she still left quite a mark on the roles she did play in the 90's and though there were talented VAs who tried replicating some of her roles, they were never quite the same. And it is quite sad to find out she died at such a young age, especially when I'm sure there was still much more she wanted to do with her life, professional VA work or not. Still I will always think fondly back on the voice of Chuckie Finster, Dexter Boy Genius, Bunnie Rabbot and many other roles and thank her for the performances she delivered throughout the years. And hope she is finding peace in heaven and that those who cared for her most are doing well to cope with such a loss.
Very sad news. My condolences to her family and friends.
Man...This year has been a real downer. First Justin Carmical (also known as JewWario), then Robin Williams, and now Christine Cavanaugh? She was one of the best voice actresses of the 1990's. My condolences to her friends and family.
Sad to hear the news, does make you wonder if she had something which she retired from voice acting, still remember her from many roles which is sad to hear this news but at least she found peace.
This was not news I wanted to wake up to.
We lost the voice of Babe? That's awfully sad.
Really sad news, after missing poor Randy "Macho Man" Savage, Marcia Wallace, Tony Jay, Charles Nelson Reilly, Casey Kasem, Bob Hastings, Joan Rivers, Robin Willaims, James Avery, Michael Ansara(Mr. Freeze), Dennis Farina, and now poor Christine Cavanaugh, rats, she's voiced all my favorite epic funny likable characters Chuckie Finster, Gosalyn, Oblina, Bunnie Rabbot, Dexter, and Babe, such an awesome voice actress of the 1990s.Rest In Peace Christine Cavanaugh, you'll be forever missed.Such a terrible year with so many dead awesome celebrities/voice actors/actresses.
She also voiced Oblina from Aaahh! Real Monsters.
It's a real shame.
Very sad. I used to think that she died earlier given the Chuckie and Dexter recasts.
Wow this sucks. Her voice was one that I've heard many times throughout the years and one that many people have grown up with. My condolences to her family and friends. R.I.P. Christine
I wonder if she was sick. I heard that she had cancer and that is why she retired earlier. I am not sure if there was any truth to that. Anyways this is very sad and shocking news.
This is sad, one of the voices from my childhood now gone. :-(
Yeah, this is a shocker. Then, there's usually alot of deaths this time of year. She will be missed.
