Yeah, it launched in parts of Virginia a while ago
It appears to have launched in North Carolina. I don't have the channel anymore, but I checked UNC-TV's website.
I just checked it too and looked at the schedule, but the new channel's schedule doesn't start until Monday. I did see the thing you're probably thinking of, but I'm wondering if either it's been like that for a while and they've been slow to update it, or it's being used to promote the launch of the new channel.
I checked the schedule. They adopted the schedule, but they also kept those Read-A-Roo Block Party marathons every weekend and this month it's Mister Roger's Neighborhood.
Well, my local PBS Station isn't even bringing the PBS Kids Channel at Launch, but I'll keep an eye out for it soon. I rarely watch PBS Kids except for shows like Arthur, Word Girl or Cyberchase occasionally.
Does an HD feed exists for this channel?
WGBH Kids in my area already has an HD feed, so I would guess that the new channel will.
How do they differentiate between PBS Kids on PBS and the PBS Kids 24/7 channel? (Isnt the main PBS channel still going to have kids programming) Like on Facebook promos for PBS Kids say 'Wild Kratts tonight at 7pm on PBS Kids' this facebook page is for PBS Kids on PBS. They just say on PBS Kids
The PBS Kids channel will debut a family movie night on the weekends starting April 21st.
Also here's a list of PBS stations that will carry the channel either tomorrow or later.
Just noticed the lack of Curious George on the schedule - does this have to do with the deal with Hulu?
I read the above article, and it says so.
Well, it still airs on my PBS station.
This is a bit like the lack of Sesame Street on the other PBS Kids Channel, which was because the show was airing on Noggin, which had higher ratings than the old PBS Kids Channel, however, Dragon Tales and Sagwa were aired on the old PBS Kids channel, despite the fact that they were made by Sesame Workshop, the makers of Sesame Street.
Well, Caillou is airing on the current PBS Kids Channel despite the show currently airing on Sprout.
Why do they call both the PBS Kids Channel and PBS Kids on PBS 'PBS Kids'? They dont have the same schedule, so people will get mixed up when they promote programs, they just say on 'PBS Kids at 2pm'. Why dont they refer to the 24/7 channel as 'PBS Kids Channel'?
...Maybe they want to confuse people?
PBS doesn't have the rights to Dragon Tales or Between the Lions. Here is a list of all the kids shows that PBS has the rights to air as of April 2017
The Berenstain Bears
Bob the Builder
The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That
Clifford's Puppy Days
Clifford the Big Red Dog
Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
Fetch with Ruff Ruffman
Maya and Miguel
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood
Peg + Cat
Sid the Science Kid
Splash and Bubbles
Thomas and Friends
Do you think Zoboomafoo will ever air on the new PBS Kids Channel?
I don't think so, it hasn't been reformated for the 2008 or 2013 rebrands.
So? Clifford's Puppy Days also hasn't been reformatted.
