That was a really cute one. I really laughed when
Guess who made the new DTA logo:
andy bialk: NEW Disney Television Animation Logo!
That's actually really swell that Rudish and company helped design a new production card! It was high time for the blue castle to be retired anyways, it hasn't been used since 2006. On top of that, having the sole word "Disney" under it just looked...awkward.
I assume it's going to premiere on the 2nd season of Gravity Falls then (or whatever original animated series comes before that)?
According to Zap2It, the next short will air on Monday the 18th (Mickey's birthday!) and the title is Potatoland. Here's the synopsis.
More Goofy...? Don't get me wrong, I like Goofy. I just don't like how much screentime he's getting compared to the other supporting cast.
Looks like Disney Channel has big plans for Mickey's 85th birthday this year, airing the Rudish Mickey cartoons starting at 1:25 PM every half hour starting on Monday November 18th, leading up to the premiere of "Potatoland" at 8PM.
This is the probably one of the best things that's happened to Disney Channel in a while. When was the last time they commemorated anything Mickey related??
Meh, it ain't much of a celebration without the classic theatrical shorts.
But it's sure as heck better than nothing.
Call me an optimist, but maybe this 'extended' short could be a test run (or lead in) to turn the new Mickey Mouse series into a half hour block consisting of three 7-minute shorts (like a better version of Mickey Mouse Works, save for the different animation style). That would be cool.
Posting this for Mick's b-day:
Here's last night's short:
I like Goofy and all, but when are we going to see their take on Pete?
I thought Potatoland was kind of boring, so I'm glad they returned to these shorter cartoons, where they have to rely more on tighter comedic timing and visual gags.
Pete finally makes an appearance in what is probably the funniest short yet. If you don't mind ads, watch "Tapped Out" on Disney.com.
If you missed "Flipperboobootosis", it's on YouTube:
What are the odds that Oswald will appear in one of these Mickey shorts?
So-so, maybe. They gave him a cameo in "Get a Horse!" That would be a great way to make him popular again. Even better, a TV show about him and the other "Wastelanders"! How awesome would that be!!
I remember reading somewhere during the beginning of the run that he was gonna show up in these shorts. Hopefully the rumor is true.
I'm surprised it's taken this long for Pete to appear and we're close to the end of the run with only three shorts left. Hopefully they greenlight more shorts.
Oswald or at least a rabbit that looks kind of like him makes a cameo in "Stayin' Cool".
Nice that they're making shorts again. Shame about the animation style, though. Can't stand it.
These shorts just keep on getting stranger and stranger, don't they?
Did that just end with Mickey & Minnie..........
Uh, wow. Definitely won't be seeing this short air on Disney Jr.
Oh my goodness, this was hilarious! Goofy appearing out of nowhere, the Lady and the Tramp cameo, Goofy's ravenous eating, him going python on Minnie and later Mickey, and the suggestive ending. This is the second worst date I've ever seen in a cartoon.
Did anyone notice that while most of the couples in the restaurant consisted of a man and a woman, there were two men together at one table and two women together at another? Maybe I'm reading too much into this.
Nope that was crap past the radar.
