It goes to show you that comic books never went away. First we get one based on "Adventure Time", "SpongeBob", and now FIM.

The artwork looks gorgeous. I'm definitely picking this up.

Awesome :D. Now we wait for the eventual G.I. Joe/Transformers/ TMNT/My Little Pony:FIM/Ghostbusters crossover.

Just saw a fancomic done by the artist. I'm not sure what the legality of posting fanart from an artist that is now producing official art is, so I'll just say it's the one without color that involves Spike breaking the fourth wall and everyone (except Pinkie) freaking out. After looking at it, I'm even more confident that this will turn out to be a great comic.

Assuming they aren't just told to do adaptations of the existing episodes or something.

Very tempting. That artwork is utterly gorgeous. And of course adorable.

Like I said in the other thread dedicated to the upcoming series I am so excited for this series. I've wanted MLP: FIM comics since I started watching MLP. I think there's a lot of potential and the writer and artist seem pretty talented.

Andy Price, the artist, posted more information over at his DA account.

The jist of it is that it's going to be close to the tone in the show, the stories are all-new, and that it will be drawn with traditional pen-and-ink. And as for whether the events in the comics will be canon with the show's setting, he says he'll let the fans decide for themselves.

I'm glad that the stories are all-new and not drawn version of the old episodes.

Does this mean IDW's next Infestation event will be about the Changlings taking over all the comics!? I kid of course, lol (But that would be fun)

But yeah defiantly have to add this to my pull list at my local comic shop. Hopefully this will turn out to be just as enjoyable as the TV series! *Knock On Wood*

Heh. Katie Cook posted a Gronk/FIM cross-over art that I drew on her site.

Haha, that'd be quite the 80s-tastic crossover right there. XD

Found this picture, taken at SDCC. Looks like the image in the OP is going to be the cover for the first issue.

The cover price is $3.99, which I guess is the standard for comic books these days.

Aaactually most comics go for 2.99. Not that I care, I will happily sacrifice other series to support an MLP: FIM series.

The art was fine for a promo, but it's kind of weird that the final background is white if that's the cover.
Anyway, I want to legally read these comics but I'm not at the level where I'd feel comfortable having a physical My Little Pony comic at home, so here's hoping for some digital distribution.

It's not that unusual. Alot of comic book covers, especially older ones, have white background.

Well, one can order it online, which will deliver it to your door in nondescript brown wrapper, and you can hide the comics under your bed :D

Personally I don't see it much different then buying the Adventure time comics from Kaboom or any other all-ages/kid comics. But yeah digital would be a nice bonus.
