Let's not kid ourselves Blade Runner 2049 is almost guaranteed to be no.1 that weekend, but that doesn't mean MLP can't do well. Rotten Tomatoes for better or worse is a factor for is people are going to to see a movie nowadays, not a surefire way albeit but it can help a movie. Same goes for good old fashioned word of mouth. If the MLP Movie is genuinely good, then it might stand a chance in being successful. Remember this generation got it's start by blowing expectations out of the water and defying the age old stigma of MLP being bad by default, if it can do that again then the rest is history.
