I could've sworn I posted a quote at school today. Hope I didn't post it in the wrong thread or something. Oh, well. I got a better one anyway.

"You should be loyal to your heroes. They could turn on you."

I'll assume that was correct, so...

    "This...is God."

If you know the correct answer, don't post without a new quote. Thanks.

    I am becoming impatient.
    Let's have it Damien.

It's been over 48 hours. Is there a rule on when someone else (not me) can just take their turn? Which makes me ask, is there someone in particular that is in charge of this thread? Just curious.

You know what, T, I've seen people told to wait for confirmation. Didn't wanna jump the gun.

Stewie, I think the rule is 24 hours. You could've gone. I've been preoccupied.

    Anyway, an easy one.

    "Rosebud."

ah, yes. The great American classic, the archytypal cryptic last word from the genius atuer of the screen. It was of course,

Terry Klisser in "Weekend at Bernies"

Yes, I know it's Orson Welles in Citizen Kane, I'm just having fun

    New Quote:

"Here I am talkin' of parties. I came down here for a party. What happens? Nothing. Not even ice cream. The gods looked down and laughed. This would be a better world for children if the parents had to eat the spinach."

If you are waiting for confirmation it's commom courtesy to say so. You say "I know the answer" and then post nothing new. If you want to be confirmed you gotta ask for it.

It's been 24 hours, I figured you'd need a hint for this one, so I'll go right ahead and give you two.

The quote is the second of three "strange interludes"

The movie is a classic comedy. Classic in both the sense that it a fantastic movie and that it is VERY old.

Another day gone by, another hint.

The movie came out in the 30's based off of a play from the 20's

(I told you it was old)

What the blue hell? Is it a Chaplin movie? This is just vague beyond all belief.

I like to give people a chance to be clever. I really don't think I'm being all that vague either. There aren't exactly a ton of popular comedies from the 30's that people still remember well, this is one of them.

It's not a chaplin movie though.

    I have no idea.
Since it's not Chaplin, I figure it has to be either W.C. Fields, or the Marx brothers.

Let me guess "Duck Soup" even though I am certain that is not it. It's the only title I can think of at the moment.

You're getting closer. But Duck Soup wasn't a play before it was a movie. Way too many scene changes to be a play.

So, if I had to search to find it, can I still answer it? What's the rule on that?

If no one gets these hints then they've just not seen the movie and you should just search for it.

It's the movie with the song

    "Hooray for Captain Spalding"

At last we are to meet him,
    the famous Captain Spalding
    From climates hot and scalding
    The Captain has arrived

    Hello, I must be going
I cannot stay, I came to say, I must be going
I'm glad I came but just the same I must be going

For my sake you must stay
    If you should go away
You'd spoil this party I am throwing

I'll stay a week or two
    I'll stay the summer thru
    But I am telling you
    I must be going

Before you go Will you oblige us
and tell us of your deeds so glowing?

    I'll do anything you say
    In fact I'll even stay

    Good!
    But I must be going

    Hooray for Captain Spalding
    The African explorer

    Did someone call me Shnorer?
    Hooray, Hooray, Hooray

He went into the jungle where all the monkeys throw nuts

If I stay here I'll go nuts
    Hooray, Hooray, Hooray

I put all my reliance in courage and defiance
and risked my life for science, Hey, hey!

    Hooray for Captain Spalding
    The African explorer
    Hooray, Hooray, Hooray

And the dead give-away if that didn't do it, the movie is named after a snack food.

Snack food? Oh, I was gonna say "Room Service". Now I don't know. I am quite confident that it is Groucho Marx however.

Edit: Watson, I think I have it! Groucho Marx in "Animal Crackers". I'm pretty confident about that so I'll go ahead without confirmation.

"You don't know how lucky you are being a monkey. Because consciousness is a terrible curse. I think, I feel, I suffer, and all I ask in return is the opportunity to do my work."
