Look like Me-TV will be starting a weekend morning block of Classic Media cartoons, including He-Man and She-Ra, in the 2nd quarter of this year. That's makes 4 TV networks in the U.S. that are airing He-Man and She-Ra now (the other 3 are Qubo, RTV and PBJ)

Interesting- I only wish we had Me-TV, here in Ohio, as well as Qubo, RTV and PBJ. This has to delight Lou Scheimer, because Filmation's programs are still getting airtime on cable and to some of them(namely Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle and eventually, Shazam, which aired as part of 1981's The Kid Power Hour on NBC), being processed and digitally remastered for eventual DVD releases by larger studios, like Warner Bros., this would have to delight him even more.

Either they're going to be airing concurrently on RTV & Me-TV, or RTV's contract for them is expiring, and they're moving to Me. Let's get some clarification.

Good! All they air right now is a ghastly thing called Green Screen Adventures so some old Filmation junk will really hit the spot.

Green Screen's aired to satisfy E/I requirements, which (for some stupid reason) even digital subchannels are required to satisfy.

(MeTV's an over-the-air full-power stand-alone channel here in Milwaukee---said station's owned by MeTV's owners, Chicago-based Weigel Broadcasting, who own several stations in both Chicago and Milwaukee---so the stations' lineups here and down in Chicago have has a few tweaks to the otherwise-national MeTV lineup IIRC.)

Sounds too much like the RTV block, and the best thing they aired was a single Baby Huey short.

If Classic Media has Richie Rich and Jay Ward cartoons and Famous Studios, those would make for a funner block.

And the Qubo Night Owl block, which you can only really watch on the West Coast.

I can't speak for RTV but Qubo's just been airing forty episodes apiece for each program, ad nauseum for the last two years. Is this going to be the same?

Actually this news shouldn't really be that suprising considering Me-TV aired the He-Man/She-Ra, Mr McGoo and The Fat Albert Christmas specials. I suspect we'll be seeing Fat Albert on Me-TV in the future.

Two Christian TV networks air retro shows, and that includes some cartoons

KIDTV and AngelTwo air Gumby, Mr. Magoo, Harvey Toons and a few others

for now on KIDTV, a block airs weekdays 8am-10am, but looks to me moving to early primetime the last week of March, I went to check Gumby's airings, and it looks to be moving to 7pm EST

Looks like very soon most of the Christian-based will be gone in place of retro

edit: KIDTV is Dish Network ans Sky Angel-only

    Ha!
You would think they would at least have "Speed Racer" or "Astro Boy" with a name like that.

They could probably air Voltron if they wanted to, since Classic Media has rights to it now.

Uh, last I checked, World Events Productions still owns the (non Japanese) rights (including the TV broadcast rights) to the show. If anything, Classic Media only has the home video rights. In other words, even if Voltron were to air on the block, it would have to be under contract with WEP, and my guess is that Me-TV can only afford to air shows that Classic Media has all the rights to.

Classic Media may be providing the content for the two blocks, but they certainly aren't competing with each other. Me-TV will air their block from 5-8 AM EDT while RTV airs their block from 8-Noon EDT. The other difference is one group airs half an hour of He-Man and She-Ra (with She-Ra going first) while the other airs a full hour of each (with He-Man going first). Real fans of those series will try to watch both groups, and hey, it'll be good seeing Gumby back on TV. Who doesn't like claymation? It looks like Me-TV affiliates can pick up the rest of the shows that air on RTV for their individual use, but that's up to individual networks and isn't being done by Me-TV as a whole.

Yes, WEP has all rights to the American version but since Classic Media has collaborated on several Voltron projects, it's not out of the realm of possibility it could show up somewhere in the future.

Voltron also has its own page on Classic Media's website in the Portfolio section, www.classicmedia.tv/

No, they're still on the schedule (unless your Me-TV affiliate is different which could very well be).
