Nice to see an Inhuman city that isn't a ghost town, and all the citizens have unique designs too!

Man, there were some really boneheaded and dumb moves made by our heroes in this episode, from Peter helping Maximus escape by giving him a pencil to Black Bolt being so easily tricked by Maximus into setting off the cannon. They both should've known better, especially considering who they were dealing with, though at least Quill has the excuse that being that stupid isn't completely out-of-character (unfortunately). Even the episode lampshading how foolish they were acting didn't erase the fact that they were still very dumb moments for both characters, and certainly didn't add earn a moral that "even the best leaders make mistakes.".

I'm almost kind of surprised the issue of who should be leading the Guardians wasn't made into a bigger deal, given the issues the team has had in the past with Peter's leadership and how often he's proven to not be the ideal leader. For every moment where he's heroic and actually acts like a leader, there's another where he gets the team into more trouble then they need because of his own idiocy. Though I guess it all came together at the end where we have the team sticking with Quill because, as much as they all bicker and criticize him, they still care for and are loyal to him as a friend, which is the main reason they put up with him as the leader of the group. Still, heartwarming and sensible as that is, "clueless leader" is right :rolleyes2:.

Comedy highlights included Peter trying to woo Crystal and Drax's idea of stealth :p.

It was great seeing the rest of the Inhuman Royal Family get the spotlight in this episode, and actually get lines and characterization compared to their last appearance. I think the episode did a good job of showcasing their powersets and at least touching on their general personalities, even if the time and focus allotted didn't give the show the opportunity to really go in-depth with all of them :).

Black Bolt, Medusa, and Lockjaw's portrayals were about on part with their last appearance, so generally pretty solid, which was good. I liked the fun kind of Dynamic Duo Star-Lord and Black Bolt make, and Peter's reactions to the Inhuman king's inability to speak and why they never thought to just have him write things down. Even Black Bolt got in on the fun with all his thumbs-ups :anime:.

As for the rest of the Royal Family, I thought the show did a fairly solid job with all of them (barring the absence of Triton). Of note, Gorgon is the sole Inhuman who's VA from SMASH (Nolan North) has consistently voiced the character in all their appearances, though Triton's inexplicable absence also means he hasn't been recast (yet). Which is kind of odd, given James Arnold Talyor is already part of the cast as Yondu and Cosmo, but I guess they just couldn't come up with anything for a sea-specialist Inhuman to do in this episode .

Vanessa Marshall did a solid job as Crystal, using a lighter and higher version of her normal voice, and her reactions to Peter's constant flirtations were fun. They also did a good job of showcasing her elemental powers :D.

Karnak was Karnak, with his ability to see weaknesses in everything, which led to some fun interaction between him, Rocket, and Drax ;).

Maximus was generally consistent with his portrayal in his last appearance, with how crafty, deranged, and loyal (in a delusional way) he can be. Diedrich Bader sounds like he's having a blast playing the character which is always nice. Though I have to say, at some points in the episode it felt they were writing for The Joker, which...isn't necessarily incomparable, but still weird .

The fight between the Guardians and the Inhumans was pretty cool, and a very dynamic fight scene as the team contended with the various powers and abilities of the Royal Family. Certainly gave the group a good challenge and demonstrated the strength of the Inhumans quite well .

Y'know, this episode feels kinda pointless when we get the revelation that Peter already had a feeling Earth was where the Cosmic Seed was located thank to his visions, so he didn't exactly need confirmation from Maximus. Taking that detour ultimately caused far more fuss then was necessary if Peter already had an idea of where they should go o_O.
Like one or two, though they certainly have more excuse then every Dr. Strange episode using Dormammu .

Really average episode. Felt too similar to the previous Inhumans episode.

There's a bit where Karnak is pointing out the weaknesses of the ship that I really like. The whiplash editing helped sell the joke and liven things up. I don't know, maybe its just refreshing to see jump cuts used for something other than 4th wall gags and reality show confessionals. The rest of the episode felt like filler, but whatever.

I thought this was a decent enough episode. It felt a little pointless, since it didn't really advance the plot that much other than confirming the fact the Cosmic Seed is apparently hidden on Earth. Still it was a pretty entertaining adventure, even if the story was predictable and kind of dumb at times. It was cool seeing more of the Inhumans in action this time, with the other members of the Royal Family getting some decent screen-time and some neat chances to use their powers. Crystal was used pretty well though Quill hitting on her got kind of annoying.

Maximus the Mad/Magnificent being the villain again was to be expected. It was a little surprising seeing how he managed to trick Black Bolt so easily into destroying the controls for the cannon because I thought it was obvious he was lying and furthermore Black Bolt should have seen it coming as well since he knew Maximus pretty well. I did kind of like how Quill pretty much used the same trick to trap Maximus in the end, which was a little more plauisble since Maximus probably had no idea about all the stuff what was inside the Milano.

Other than that, there were some pretty neat moments like Maximus escaping using only a pencil, the way Karnak interacted with Rocket & Drax, or how that "this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard" gag escalated at the beginning. Plus, all those other unnamed Inhumans who inhabited the city, each one with a pretty unique and nice design. Overall a decent adventure but it mostly felt only like an excuse to have the Inhumans appear on the show again.

Well, yeah, because that's pretty much exactly what it was .

Peter basically confirmed this episode was filler when he said he had an idea where they should go to find the Cosmic Seed, he just needed confirmation from Maximus. Which is sensible given Maximus' parting words in the last Inhuman episode, so good to have them build off on that, but when Peter was able to see the Earth in his vision and remembered what Maximus had said, it should've been easy enough to put two-and-two together without having to confront him about it. But then we wouldn't get more Inhuman promotion .

At least this episode got to showcase well the rest of the Royal Family (minus Triton) after they were basically just cameos in the last Inhuman episode, which was nice. And probably part of the point of the episode as well :).

Like I have said numerous times before in other Marvel animation discussions on this forum, the current SOP for the Loeb and Quesada run Marvel Animation is rinse, repeat, rinse again, and repeat again. It is a safe bet that when the Inhumans appear in AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, the story will most likely be a rehash of one of the Inhumans centric episodes from either USM,GOTG,or HULK AND THE AGENTS OF SMASH. So we will see Maximus as the villain (again),one or more of the Inhumans being mind controlled (again),and Black Bolt speaking (again) most likely as a mcguffin to save the day (again).

For what it's worth, the summaries for the upcoming Inhuman arc in Ultron Revolution sounds quite a bit different from the traditional Inhuman plot the shows have been using so far.

Though we probably will see The Avengers fight the Royal Family, as one would expect .

I hope that I'm wrong and the plot is different.
