Wasn't Sam supposed to be the last Nova?
Well, he obviously isn't in the context of the Guardians universe since we saw the Nova Corps. in full back in season 1.
The Black Nova's are supposed to be the elite guard of the Corps. as I recall, so we'll probably just see another one of them turn up (maybe Sam's Dad?) so Gamora can get their helmet.
GotG's first season supposedly takes place years in the past, presumably 2-3 years before the beginning of USM.
Yeah...I'm not going to hold them to that timeline .
I mean, even now, we're seeing a roster of Avengers that were never actually together during Assemble, so I think we should at this point just accept things for what they are on this show rather then try to workaround the continuity .
I hope they use some of the Ditko cosmic entities like Fear. I want to see GotG get really weird, that's when it is the best.
For people who can't watch the Heroes Collide video like myself (region locked), I believe this is the same one.
Hopefully more people can see this.
You know I want more colour on the shows but......
WHAT IN TANATION IS THAT? Lol
Did they just increase the contrast cause..... yeesh
Zap2It has been updated with summaries for the other two episodes set to premiere this month:
Of course Guardians would have a "what did I do last night?" plot .
So I guess "sarcophagus" is the new "Cosmic Seed." I wonder if it's actually in-place of Adam Warlock's traditional cocoon ?
Y'all can come at me for overthinking a children's cartoon but where was the Black Order during of this Thanos shenanigans in the last season? It was like they were put on a bus.
I don't think the Black Order was ever explicitly aligned with Thanos in this cartoon.
They were introduced as seemingly just an alien mercenary group in their debut, and I think the only mention of an affiliation with Thanos was in their second appearance, and even that wasn't very clear .
Though, frankly, I thought the long-absence Korath had before he came back near the end of the season was more jarring .
Collider has an exclusive clip from the Season 2 premiere.
And a breakdown of the two-part Season 2 premiere for more details:
Entertainment Weekly has another exclusive clip.
Another preview clip, on Twitter.
I think that was during the Asgard story-arc. As much as his absence and Yondu's absence was jarring in my opinion, I understand that they weren't part of the story-arc which already had a few characters.
Visually these clips look better than the promos and images that were previously released, because Captain America's outfit looked really light blue and overly bright. The lighting looks better here for him and Hulk.
I think this 2-part crossover between the Avengers and Guardians takes place before AA S1 "Guardians and Space Knights" Due to GOTG being a prequel show here. But Something's fishy about Captain America, Iron Man and Hulk being in their S3 costumes where they should be in their S1 ones so the show can have more continuity to the Marvel Animated Universe.
The continuity of the universe is somewhat loose so I doubt they're really concerned about Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America looking like they did in Avengers Assemble season one. The fact that Captain Marvel and Ant-Man are already on the team prove that continuity isn't their biggest focus.
They care more about the designs matching the merchandise than fitting into continuity.

Yeah, So I think They were on the team before The Avengers broke up before the start of AA. This proves Iron Man's hint at the beginning of AA that there were more Avengers in the past other than the 7 main characters. But this show is a prequel to the other Marvel shows. So Maybe they'll do a episode where the Avengers split up, setting up AA.
Images from the first 2 episodes are available on Disney ABC Press. It's nothing too important but I figured it would be worth mentioning here.
- Stayin' Alive
- Evolution Rock
Collider has a review of the Season 2 premiere. Spoiler warning, but the rating they give it is 4 stars, "very good".
Also confirmation that Nolan North voices the High Evolutionary.
A little disappointed they didn't bring back Corey Burton, but Nolan North is usually a solid pick for any role .
I actually wonder if North might end up doubling-up as Adam Warlock...
I didn't realize this at first glance, but Collider's review also mentions Iron Man is voiced by Mick Wingert. So technically these episodes should take place during the 4th Season of Avengers Assemble.
