The record-breaking blockbuster film "Marvel's The Avengers" gave worldwide prominence to the most popular super hero team - Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye and Black Widow. "Marvel's Avengers Assemble" reunites the team, along with newcomer Falcon, marking the first time in animation history this distinct team of heroes will join forces. Led by Iron Man, the heroes train and live together in their new headquarters in Avengers Tower. The planet's most dangerous villains don't stand a chance when the Avengers assemble - whether they are stopping Dr. Doom from conquering Asgard, Attuma driving the Atlantean Army into New York City or Dracula unleashing vampire hordes, the Avengers must work together to succeed.

Squadron Supreme version of Nighthawk making his animation debut in the current Marvel Animated Universe is pretty awesome. I wonder if he will be the same one from Hyperion's home planet and survived its destruction.

I'm pretty sure he's a SHIELD agent with a costume.

    Per Disney XD:
Based on one of the images from Getty, it looks like Falcon is facing off with a dark-haired, male SHIELD agent. Perhaps this is Nighthawk or one of the suspects. Maybe an old SHIELD academy rival for Falcon. So they could be ditching the Squadron Supreme background, even though we saw Nighthawk for Hyperion's flashback.

Sounds like he's going Tower of Babel on the Avengers.

*Edit* Really good episode. There's also a bit of meta casting in the form of Anthony Ruivivar as Nighthawk. This show has really stepped it up.

Did we really need another character whose only ability is flying?

If he's not joining the team I don't see the problem.

Besides isn't Nighthawk supposed to be a parody of Batman?

Haven't watched the episode yet, but that's pretty cool having Anthony Ruivivar voice Nighthawk. It's probably worth mentioning that in his previous animated appearance (on the Super Hero Squad Show), he was voiced by Adam West.

Doesn't look like Nighthawk is making things easy for them.

Also, Hawkeye should learn to let bygones be bygones.

Well, he's not a parody of anything. They are analogs.

The first Nighthawk was one of the original Squardon Sinister created by the elder of the universe Grandmaster to fight the Avengers in one of his cosmic gladitorial contests - Doctor Spectrum (Green Lantern), Hyperion (Superman), the Whizzer (Flash), and Nighthawk (Batman). The Grandmaster created the Squadron Sinister based on the Squadron Supreme of the Earth-712 universe.

This-world Nighthawk (Kyle Richmond), is similar to Batman in many key respects; he's a millionaire (or used to be - who knows, now?), he is a "creature of the night", he uses gadgets, etc. Nighthawk alerted the Defenders (the real ones) to plot by Nebulon, who increased the powers of the Squadron Sinister in exchange for Earth, reformed, and became a mainstay of that team.

The Squadron Supreme Nighthawk was more like Batman in that he was also a gifted strategist and tactician. From the clip, its unclear which one this is, or what his origin is, as we've already seen this world's version of Hyperion, seemingly unrelated to the Grandmaster, which leaves this Nighthawk likewise without an origin.

Outside of a couple of episodes, I pretty much hated the 1st season so it feels weird to say that the series has really been growing on me this season. Maybe I'm just becoming really forgiving of it or something but I think it's safe to say that I ... like it now. Hopefully, this won't return to bite me. The Age of Tony Stark is on WATCH, if anyone's interested.
