    So:

    Daredevil: Crime Drama

    Jessica Jones: Psychological Drama.

Luke Cage: The Wire (which I guess means a drama focusing more on the sociological, morally grey, and community aspects of society? I never watched The Wire )

    Iron Fist: Kung-Fu/Martial Arts/Supernatural Drama

Looking forward to Cage. I am not deeply read on his comics, so be interesting to see. You should definitely watch The Wire. One of the top ten shows of the 00's.

I'm glad to see Goddard will be involved. I'm not sure about Petrie and Ramirez...

EDIT: Jessica Jones season 2 starts production in 2017.

It's going to be interesting seeing how Defenders works as a series compared to the rest of the Netflix shows. Will the whole series be about building up to the team who come together at the very end? With most of the series comprised of the group meeting each other, some character/personality conflict, getting over their issues with each other (especially in Jessica and Luke's case) and forming some comradery as they join up to save the streets ?

True. Well, no Daredevil season 3 announced, Cox said work on Defenders starts the end of this year, and now Petrie and Ramirez listed as the showrunners -- we still don't know the amount of episodes but it may be less than 13 I think. I sort of doubt the season will be a build up to a formation. If they want to change up from the Avengers formula -- it might be a boon to be major disaster in Hell's Kitchen first, they all converge on it and team up, as the disaster continues, the alliance breaks apart because of their individual baggage, and so on. Money it's the Hand and Elektra being the host of the Beast and bringing hell to Hell's Kitchen.

They original plan, of course, was FOUR 13 episode series of 52 hours. Plus a miniseries of 4-8 episodes. Obviously, they have to redo that. I have a feeling, they might try to do Defenders as two parts. First part is 4 eps, then DD3 maybe another JJ season, until Defenders part 2 of 4 eps.

Tribe Called Quest alums to score Luke Cage:

Definitely onboard. Now get Rza or some other Wu-Tang guys on for Iron Fist.

Eka Darville confirmed his character Malcolm from Jessica Jones season one will appear in The Defenders but he doesn't know the scope of his appearance yet.

Interesting. I wonder what other members of the supporting cast of each Defender will make an appearance? I'd be shocked if Patsy/Trish doesn't ;).

Agreed, I think we'll see the greater landscape of the Netflix cast will appear with a few new ones maybe pretty much like the first Avengers. I think it's a given Claire Temple and Jeri Hogarth will appear.

4/18: It's looking more and more that, as connected as they make it seem, the MCU is not as shared a universe as we'd like. Netflix heroes will not be sharing screen time with the Avengers, and I'd be surprised if they allow the AoS characters appear. They are basically segregated into those three parts. As much as I wanted Cloak and Dagger on Netflix, it looks like that may not happen either.

4/18: Iron Fist adds two more to cast:

It also doesn't look like he has any form of costume yet, though maybe he's saving his K'un-Lun uniform for when he's active on the streets as Iron Fist o_O?

At least Danny looks blonde .

Looks like all Marvel heroes go from homeless to K'un L'un.

This is the very best interpretation of Punisher yet. As if Scorcese and Deniro did this.

    Teaser video.

So I guess Jessica Jones season 2 and Punisher are going to be the 2018 releases/start of Netflix Phase 2.

I know Netflix and Marvel had said they're aiming at two seasons a year, but as with the films I fully expect them to bump it up to three, at least for some years. Like I assume Jessica Jones S2 will be out next year, I can't see them going nearly three years between seasons of that show.

But yeah, although it was pretty much inevitable I'm still very glad to see the Punisher officially getting his own show, Bernthal absolutely killed it in Daredevil S2.

True, I think they're pretty much going to have a similar pattern as the movies and some years it will be two. Sometimes, three (Starting in 2008 it was 2 movies, 0 in 09, 1 in 10, 2 in 11, 1 in 12, 1 in 13, 3 in 14, 2 in 15, 2 this year, and 3 next year).
