Cumberbatch? Cool, I liked him in Into Darkness.

I'm glad that we'll have a new team. Having the same members each time would get stale.

Well, I think additions to the roster are cool, and whole roster changes (so a team never gets too bloated) can also be a good thing, but I also think having a roster last from one movie into another isn't necessarily bad because we get to see that team dynamic get more development and be expanded on :).

Though it'll be interesting to see what the new team ends up looking like, and how accurate it will be to the rumored rosters. It's likely this team will carry into Cap 3, especially if it's adapting Civil War, though I wonder what the team might look like in both parts of Avengers 3?

I am pretty sure they will keep Captain America, Iron Man and Thor since those are the money makers. I wonder who they can add to the line up? Daredevil maybe?

Theres a lot of talk that Cap and Thor will be left out (there movie contracts are almost up) so they can be used in Avengers 4 which a lot of people think will be the super duper hero mash up with avengers and guardians.

If Phase III sees the hero community in upheaval then I like the idea of the third Avengers seeing the formation of a new team made up of new heroes who don't necessarily agree with or line up with the original. Bumping back Thanos to Phase IV is a good idea because it would be stupid as all get-out for him to interfere when the heroes of Earth might simply wipe each other out. Heck, Thanos could be moved to Phase V if Phase IV was about the re-forging of the Earth's defenses.

Honestly, I joked about seeing a Phase 5 & 6, but I did think they would only concentrae on one or two infinity gems a Phase. So it seems so likely now.

At the rate the Infinity Stones are being revealed, and the rate Thanos is collecting them, I think it would be a little too much to hope for that either part of Avengers 3 is the Infinity Gauntlet. I think it's definitely likely that it might happen in either Phase 4 or 5, and there might be some negotiation or maneuvering around so the star players (the actors for the Trinity, the founding Avengers, maybe Fury) are able to show up in the movies dealing with that. At this point, I'm half expecting a Nova or a Thanos Quest movie that just entirely focuses on Thanos' quest for the Stones just so we can finally get some progress on that .

But yeah, if Cap 3 including Civil War throws the entire Superhero Community, fledgling as it is, into some chaos or disorder and might even throw the public against them, then Avengers 3 picking up the pieces and featuring a new Avengers team kinda rising out of the ashes as it were would make sense.

And I think it's also a good possibility that Cap 3 and Thor 3 will take their respective leads off the table for a little while, and we might even see a new Cap in the next Avengers, until Infinity Gauntlet is finally adapted.

Bucky doesn't even have to take the name of Captain America to lead his own film. Given Stan is still on contract for a good six or seven films it would be easy to simply have him headline some sort of film to take the slot of the Captain America films. With Steve AWOL a reluctant Bucky--still searching for himself--finds himself dragged into the middle of a revolution in the hero committee and reluctantly becomes something of a figure. That would be an interesting storyline for him, especially if played with Bucky feeling overwhelmed by trying to fit into Steve's boots.

A Winter Soldier movie would pretty cool in theory. I'd rather have that than him taking up the Cap mantle so 'soon'.

Yeah, but...they shared ONE ADVENTURE together. Where they teamed up to fight Loki and an alien invasion. I mean, geez, did the Star Trek movies shake up the cast of the Enterprise every single movie? How about some stability on the roster for at least a couple films?

Here's what three of the original Avengers have to say on the subject.
    Hmmm.

The difference though is unlike Star Trek, each of the Avengers save for Hawkeye and Hulk have still been appearing regularly. They weren't together as a team but the actual MCU Avengers never really went away.

That will never happen as long as you hire actors who don't need to do these films for the money. All of the Avengers actors are more than rich enough to never work a day again in their lives, they're only ever going to do these films for the art and that sort of interest is very rarely going to occur, especially when we're speaking of an ensemble.
