Marvel Comics has opened a new section of their site for digital comics, with the debut titles being Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #1 by Peter David and Mike Wieringo, She-Hulk (vol. 1) #1 by Dan Slott and Juan Bobillo, Captain America #1 by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting, and an episode of Franklin Richards: Son of a Genius by Marc Sumerak and Chris Eliopoulos. The comics require the Flash plug-in to view, and free registration with the Marvel website is required to read the comics in their entirety. The digital comics section of their site is live now.

In his most recent "Joe Fridays" question-and-answer session on Newsarama.com, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada stated that Marvel may release selected web comics as "mini animated movies" in the future as a way to take advantage of the opportunities of the medium.
