alrighty. when we last left off we were discussiing the rumor john williams coming back to do the score:

    http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/johnarturo/news/?a=47102

and i ended the last thread with pics of russell crowe on set as jor-el:

    http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/rorschachsrants/news/?a=47564

these pics are different from what was originally posted in the link. based on the original pics, i thought jor-el needed to be more "colorful". looking at these new/better pictures, looks like we got some color. i like how the superman costume is incorporated into jor-el's costume. i wonder if jor-el has the tights.

going back to john williams possibly returning, i understand everyone's point about why he shouldn't come back or why the williams theme shouldn't be reused. but why is it ok for star trek and casino royale to use their respective themes, but not superman?

Still doesn't look like enough color. So dreary and depressing, these Kryptonians are.

As for the theme, Star Trek was one long continuity until the 2009 movie, which did break from the old theme music. And while Bond movies do use the classic Bond theme, they generally have an original opener.

Wow..those don't look good at all. Russel looks like he should be casting spells instead of being a scientist. I actually forgot he was even in this movie, hell he looks like he forgot he's in the movie...then again Russel Crowe always looks like that.

Red-haired Lois isn't new to the franchise.

And even if it was I'd hardly consider that a big deal.

Christian Bale has not a black hair nor has a squared jaw look and he was amazing as both Batman and Bruce Wayne.

I would be nicer if she dyed her hair black. It would. But in the end is not that that matters.

Kim Basinger was a fine blonde Vick Vale and Michelle Pfeifer was a more than OK blonde Catwoman.

I like the idea that Clark Kent is very similar to humans minus being superpowered by the Yellow Sun. But you knwo, I'm suspect. I'm fan of John Byne's Man of Steel.

With this concept that Clark Kent can grow a beard is logical that he would have a long beard prior his Superman days when being in a more remote location such as Africa as was indicated in previous rumours.

It has to be intellectual, emotional and moral which is not easy to deliver in this case. The new updated costume could well backfire in a huge way for dc and warner. As for superman, I admit I don't really care to go see a new one.

    possible trailer description:
    http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Wolvie09/news/?a=54717

if i worked for that website, after reading that email i'd send a reply and ask the most important question regarding the teaser/trailer: is any john williams music being used? :D

anyway, what's the "biggest" warner bros release that is close to coming out? i figured if we were getting any man of steel trailer this year, it would be with the dark knight rises. seems a little too early to be editing trailers that will be first seen in july.

Eh they could have a really really EARLY teaser trailer in the next month or so, and then the actual teaser trailer/trailer for Man of Steel for the Dark Knight rises. Yeah they're editting it fairly early but I'm sure they're also sitll getting back effects shot and actual scenes being worked on it now so there's still more stuff to put in before the actual trailer's ready to be finalized. As for if they want to do a trailer showing in the next month, then they'd probably put it with Wrath Of The Titans. You know the Clash of The Titans sequal.

warner bros considering/pushing for a supergirl movie?
    http://supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=11458
if a supergirl movie gets made, i hope superman has a role bigger than a cameo and that it's in the same continuity as the nolan/snyder movie. we need consistency in the current batch or dc movies. that's why i feel the avengers has become a huge success. the same continuity in 4 different solo franchises and more importantly the actors reprising their respective roles.

I'd just like to point out that I love that logo. It's a great job of updating the Superman logo but keeping it recognizeable and classic. I like what I'm seeing so far.

the superman costume and possibly jor-el's and faora's costumes on display at the licensing expo:
    http://supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=11488

i'm surprised i didnt think of this earlier. it looks like the s shield will be the house of el's family crest, a symbol for the krypton counsel jor-el works for, simply a fashion accessory, or whatever. the el family (or at least one member of the family) is using it. many fans have been on record saying to have this stand alone from the richard donner movie, and i'm sure nolan and snyder want to stand alone from donner as well. so, why is the house of el using the s shield? the el family using the s shield all started with richard donner. so, if christopher nolan and zack snyder are allowed to use the s shield the same exact way donner did (and fans are letting this pass because it's christopher nolan, or the el family using the s shield is to small to make a fuss over), i see no harm to just bring another staple of the donner movie back: THE JOHN WILLIAMS THEME. i now have 2 legit points to reuse the williams theme.
