Thanks for the suggestion, but we couldn't do that because the stars of Super Twins!--Tommy & Tabby Tibble--are a brother and sister. We wanted them to be fraternal twins so that the series would appeal to both male and female audiences in equal measure.

And for the record, we've already named the members of the Muckel family. They are:

Herb- The wacky self made billionaire father.
Bianca- The former supermodel turned New Age hippie mother.
Krystella- The vain, shallow, appearance obsessed teenage daughter.
Duncan & Dudley- The tubby, tempestuous identical prepubescent twin sons.
    Brentwood
    - The highly intelligent talking pet chameleon.

Harvey, Maxy and Zook sounds interesting. I like the idea of having a feature TV movie premiere. If it were on TV, I'd watch it.

Thanks, but it needs a lot of work. You and Silverstar's ideas on the other hand seem to have a lot of thought and development put into it. Plus they're very original ideas.

I've come up with about a million crazy little "seed ideas" over the years. Here's one I've come back to over the years.

    Halloween Knights

Every year on the 31st of October, the barrier between this world and an alternate world of "otherworldly monsters" (aka demons) becomes thin enough for creatures to pass through and gain access to this world. About a hundred years ago though, representatives of 13 different earthly monster tribes went to battle with the demons and sealed away the gateway between the worlds (largely for their own benefit). As a way of keeping them sealed away, the 13 monsters put their power into 13 masks and scattered them across the face of the Earth. Only when the 13 masks are brought together can the demons be released. However, one demon by the name of Nick Slick has escaped and is on the search for the masks. Luckily, a monster hunter named Van Pierce is on the hunt also, along with his niece, her friend and an unlikely guide. As an added bonus, the masks have the unique power of being able to turn the kids into super-powered monsters when they wear them (adults can't use them. They can't tap into the "night magic"). Unfortunately, the masks can also be just a bit . . . unstable.

    The Characters:

Vanderbilt "Van" Pierce- A lifelong monster hunter and single parent to his niece Elsa. He's used to taking down monsters, but now he's going to have to trust in their power to stop an even worse evil from overcoming the Earth.

Elsa Pierce- Elsa's the type of kid who doesn't fit in well at school. She's an eleven year old girl who dresses all in black and likes to emerse herself in horror novels whenever she can. Other than her friend Kevin, everyone calls her "creepy Elsa". She was bemoaning what may have been her last Halloween (since she was turning the ripe old age of 11) before it ended up kick-starting an adventure.

Kevin MacCool- The son of Pierce's housekeeper. A monster/horror fan like Elsa, but more geek than goth. He's probably the most gung-ho about the whole thing. He has to learn to draw the line between geeky enthusiasm and serious adventurer, though.

Jack- Jack is . . . a pumpkin. Well, he's a carved pumpkin with cornstalk limbs, and a magic candle inside. Jack was a ne'er-do-well who Nick Slick tricked into giving up his soul ages ago, though it mainly just floated around Earth after he died. He's cranky, selfish and never misses a chance to get something his own way. He also knows more about the lore of the "night magic" than anyone. And since Kevin lit the candle, he's bound to follow him.

Nick Slick- A demon in gentlemen's clothing. He has a number of smaller less powerful demonoids at his service, as well as zombies by the score (they were the only race of Earthly monsters not to fight the demons). He's a dangerous foe, but his various character flaws (pride, vanity, greed, etc) could be used to the advantage of his enemies.

    The Masks:

Each one has power and a drawback for the wearer. The monsters all have some trait or flaw that can be overpowering.

Vampire- All the powers of a vampire (including a few new ones like being able to melt into shadows), but also the nagging hunger.

Werewolf- Strength, speed, enhanced senses and feral power, combined with a call to wild places and the hunt.

Frankenstein's Monster- Great physical strength and endurance. Renders the wearer prone to rage and anger.

Ghost- Intangibility, invisibility, levitation. Makes wearer overly focused on the sorrows of their life.

Witch- Various magical spells and charms. Wearer is drawn to seek forbidden knowledge.

Skeleton- Able to dismantle and reassemble self in various configurations. Wearer loses some sense of responsibility and starts being drawn toward fun and "kicks" (skeletons like to party. Go figure).

Gill Beast- A watery creature that may or may not have influenced legends of nixies and merfolk. Various aquatic powers, including the ability to breathe underwater and dive great depths. Generally distrustful of "land walkers" (even when the wearer is one).

Mummy- Able to cast sandstorms and put people in trances, among other powers. Possessed of great pride and ego.

Gargoyle- Strength, flight, stone-hard skin. Possesses psychic "soul sight" (one of the reasons their drawn to churches). Also, very stubborn.

Goblin- Small size and great agility. Terrific mechanical aptitude. Mischevious.

Dragon- Posesses both humanoid and beast form. Amazing power over heat and fire. Prone to greed.

Yeti- Great strength and stamina. Also possesses a rare "afinity" with cold and ice. Very shy and is compelled to hide from others.

Harpy- Flight, talons and sonic cry. Prone to vanity. Mask only seems to work for girls.

    Here's mine.

    Littleton

Set in the bleak New Jersey town of Littleton, the show focuses on 3 teenagers and a dog as they go on bizarre adventures in their own neighborhood.

Tom - A short-tempered boy who vents most of his anger on Max.

Max - Tim's dog. Dabbles in science, and the "adult" of the group (21 in dog years)

Sharon - The girl of the group. In a "formal dating relationship" with Chuck.

Chuck - The oldest and most athletic in the group, Chuck is the perpetual sunshine and comic foil to Tom's general unpleasantness.

    Episode ideas...

The Best Halloween Ever - Max, Sharon, and Chuck compete to get the most candy on Halloween. Meanwhile, Tom is trapped in an abandoned house with a serial killer.

Adventure - A hiking trip goes awry when the gang find themselves in the clutches of creepy hillbillies who worship an old 80's Apple text-RPG titled "Adventure".

    Any constructive criticism?

Nice idea. I like Max's character. There's only one defining factor missing, something extremely outrageous that attracts attention to the show. But I guess the whole point is that they live in a boring average New Jersey suburb. Good idea, though. Any criticism on my idea??

Gah. You guys are making me jealous. "Littleton", "Halloween Knights" and "Harvey, Maxy and Zook" sound awesome!

Mickialla, I honestly have no criticisms of your idea; it sounds great.

Also, here are some sample episodes of Meet the Muckels. (Note, we've only actually completed full scripts for the first 2.)

Welcome to Peaceful Pines- The eccentric billionaire Muckel family-maverick CEO dad Herb, New Age former model mom Bianca, their kids, teen princess Krystella and tubby tempestuous twins Duncan and Dudley, along with their genius talking pet chameleon Brentwood-moves from the Metropolis of Progress City to the tranquil suburb of Peaceful Pines, where they inadvertently make life miserable for their new next-door neighbor, Mr. Ratskeller. (He's basically the Ed Bighead/Squidward of the show.)

Reality Bites- Herb arranges for his family to have their own reality show, with cameras planted all over the mansion capturing their every move.

Sleepover!- Krystella hosts a slumber party in the mansion, and her brothers Duncan and Dudley are determined to crash the proceedings. Meanwhile, Herb and Bianca attend a lunar eclipse party for CEOs.

    Home Insecurity-
When Peaceful Pines becomes victim to a string of burglaries, Herb orders a prototype automated security system called the Watchdog 9000 to keep his home safe.

The Last Resort- Herb and Bianca, determined to get some time alone together, spend the weekend at a lush romantic spa and resort. Meanwhile, the kids are left alone in the house to tackle the household chores.

How I Snagged Your Mother- When a lightning storm knocks out the family’s satellite TV picture, Herb regales the kids with the story of how he and Bianca first met.

Mrs. Hellfire-The Muckels hire a new nanny, who is actually Claude the Disguiser, a corporate spy from one of Herb’s rival companies sent to steal important software from Expensive Enterprises.

Rockin' Road Trip- Krystella dreads going on a road trip with her family for summer vacation and yearns to be free from them, and seems to get her wish when they seemingly leave her behind at a truck stop!

Fair Play-With Mom at an art museum expo in London and Dad at his company’s quarterly review, the twins pretend to be sick to go on a carnival ride, the Vomit Inducer.

Here Comes the Grudge- After being harshly disciplined by her parents, Krystella decides to get back at them by shocking them with outrageous behavior.

Roller Boogie Affair-Dudley and Duncan want to enter a roller skating competition when they learn that 1st prize is a ton of candy. Problem is neither of them can skate worth beans.

The Courtship of Kryssie's Father- Bianca feels that Herb needs to spend more time with Krystella and drops the teenage princess off at his office for the day.

Brentwood in the Rough-Brentwood is abducted by nutty animal rights activists, who believe him to be a rare and endangered species, and is released into the wild.

Gah, I'm totally in over my head. I literally came up with my Drawn In idea in 2 seconds, and now I don't know what to do with it. I'm horrible at coming up with decent character ideas, too. I have no idea what the central character would be. But hey, that's kind of the point of this thread — we can add to each other's ideas.

I wouldnt mind seeing some logos and a storyboard. A main character pose would be nice to. We get to know what they look like as well as see your drawing style.

Isnt there some unwritten rule for artists about going around and spilling your guts out without having things hard copied and/or already in production so you have notoriety?

Im only saying this cuz you guys seem to have paragraphs worth of infringement farming waiting to happen.

Believe me, you don't want to see my drawing style. In part because I have no clue how to use Photoshop, and no matter what I do, my drawings are still smudged and dithered and grey-speckled into a big blob.

This idea sounds like this could be an upgrade to Out of Jimmy's Head.

About the characters being erased from existence, I wouldn't say that they would be gone for good but rather the 'toons that the creator doesn't like will be sent to an alternate version of the real world where people who like mean-spirited cartoons or cartoon shows with no story would increase their ratings to the point of them being resurrected into the real world to get revenge on their creator.

The alternate world idea would be sorta like how The Fairly Oddparents is still on the air despite the fans' reactions to the behaviors of Timmy and Cosmo in the newer seasons but at least these two characters wouldn't go and try and hurt Butch Hartman in his sleep.

I was once asked to come up with the stupiest cartoon resulting in a G.I. Joe parody titled The Bridal Commandos--former military women turned bride models by day, gun toting adventuros heroines for hire by night.

I actually am writing a comic at another community, allthough it only has the character designs done and is still being scripted. It's just a nonsensical thing about a boy named pancho who wears a pink poncho (say "Pancho's pink poncho" ten times fast!), and a town (somewhere on the Yucatán) surrounding a cursed Cenote

I don't really want to give anything away

It's very Dia de Los Muertos and Calavera/Mexican art inspired, though

Not too shabby at all, especially seeing as how it's an MS Paint drawing. I like the way Max looks. Chuck looks kinda like Dexter to me. I bet your actual pencil designs are much better. If your scanner is working I'd love to see some pencil sketches.

I thank you for viewing my art in the first place, whether you liked it or not, it really means a lot to me to know other people's opinion on my material. I have thought up a few episode ideas, but nothing too detailed for me to remember or document. I'd usually just be thinking about a weird experience that I had or heard of and twisted and warped it into an episode outline. But still, I haven't had any truly decent ideas for episodes that I would want to write down in a journal or so. But if I do, I'll post something.

Silverstar and Blackstar, you guys on the other hand seem to be pretty well into pre-production for your pitch, and I must say I'm impressed. And your episode ideas for Meet the Muckels are wonderful to boot. I wonder, do you guys have any character designs you'd like to share? Do you guys plan on pitching the show and if so, to what network??

I barely know how to use photoshop either. I just draw on pencil on regular computer paper and then scan it to my computer. If you have a scanner, it should be easy peasy.

I want to get some more sketches up on my DA account. I really want to show you guys how Zook looks, his design is probably one of my favorite. I want to post a picture of Maxy too, since there's only one dated picture of him on my DA and on that he's climbing on Harvey's back, so you can't tell how he really looks besides his face, which I have completely changed. He now has a wider head and he wears a small maroon fez (one of those Moroccan hats)

I have an idea that's kinda like that.

It's the story of a cartoon character who seeks out to become the world's greatest toon, and he's accompanied by a his mentor, an old character from thee 1930's. He does this so his creator won't give up on becoming a cartoonist.

The story started off as a shonen parody, but I hope to work on it more in the future. I hope to post comics of it in the future.

    Legacy of Destina
Seven teenagers from Earth are summoned half-way across the universe to a magical planet called Median. They are told they have been chosen by the Legacies, spiritual manifestations of the seven elements that make up the universe, to become the new bearer of these powers and will act as protectors of Crossvale Kingdom.

The series blends a mix of fantasy and sci-fi themes. I have pretty much every episode planned out and ready to go.. ideally it'll last four seasons, but I can cut it down if need be. The first season is straight forward enough.

    Season 1
A Galactic Protection Division (GPD) squad escorting the dangerous space pirate mastermind Gar’Zeng was taken down and crash landed on the planet Median after Gar'Zeng escaped his restraints and sabotaged the ship. Rookie Officer Lucas Miller, the sole-survivor of the crash, escaped in an escape pod as the spaceship entered Median’s atmosphere and crash-landed in Crossvale Kingdom. The spaceships’ fate was unknown to him, but he assumed Gar’Zeng perished in the crash. Months later, however, news of a powerful wizard named Gar’Zeng surfaced which filled Lucas with dread. Lucas enlisted and became a knight in the Crossvale army in order to obtain more information, and was horrified to learn Gar’Zeng survived the crash and was now using technology from the spaceship to slowly take control over the primitive planet. When the Oracle Clerac summoned a group of seven teenage warriors from an unknown planet called Earth, Lucas saw this as his chance to confront Gar’Zeng and stop him, and volunteered to act as the Destined’s guide on their journey to receive the Legacy’s blessings all across Crossvale Kingdom and put an end to Gar’Zeng.

too many teens in toons. For my toon, the cast would be strictly adult--The Bridal Commandos.

Thanks. You seem to be well into pre-pre-production (or whatever it's called) though, while Halloween Knights will likely never get any farther than this thread. That says a whole lot more than all the ideas in the world.

I'm glad someone liked my idea, though. I'm kind of a product of the late '80s and early '90s, so this idea is really just calling back to the "creepy for kids" era of the '90s. You know, the whole Goosebumps/Mighty Max/Monster in my Pocket thing. I also liked the whole idea that you can essentially be someone different just by donning a Halloween costume, so I ran with it. Throw in some riffs on the Jack O'Lantern, the pre-Christian concept of Samhain and a folkloric representation of the devil and you've got the concept. Oh, and there are little nods to the Universal Monster movies and to Celtic mythology in some of the character names if you look. :D

The masks were a little tough to think up, because I knew I had to have 13. The witch, ghost and skeleton are classic Halloween symbols, so they were set. The vampire, werewolf, mummy and frankenstein's monster represent the classic movie monsters. Then I had to fill in the rest looking at different sources. The Gill Beast is partially Creature From the Black Lagoon and partially to fill a need for some sort "sea monster". The Gargoyle was more-or-less inspired by Ray Bradbury's book The Halloween Tree. The Goblin is to represent the more sinister side of the Good People (aka Fairies). The Dragon is representative of the medeival mythical beasts (knights in armor and all that). The Yeti is to represent the cryptids. I chose the Yeti over the Sasquatch because I figured I could fudge it and give him ice powers. The Harpy is to represent Greek mythology and because I wanted a mask only Elsa could use, because girls often get gypped in action shows. I figure most people would have chosen Medusa over the Harpy, but I wanted to be different.

There's a lot of originality in that idea actually. You don't cut yourself enough slack. I like the whole spooky vibe your going for, I wonder if this idea is for an action or a comedy or a mix of both?? What do you think of my idea??

Oh and I'm sorry, but the working title for my show is Maxy, Harvey and Zook not Harvey, Maxy and Zook. It's just cuz Maxy's the main character. It doesn't really matter, but sorry if that confused anyone.
