I would like to ask the mods to mirror this in The Entertainment Board because of the involvement of Live Action shows.

You know, ABC Kids for 2 or 3 years have been circled around recycled Disney Channel/Jetix (PR never came forth to Disney XD, unfortunately)Hanna Montana, a hour of That's So Raven, a hour of Power Rangers, The Emperor's New School and The Replacements, all of which are canceled (Except Hanna Montana, of course). We all know that ABC are likely going to keep the schedule as it is (laziness and "educational" requirements), and we already know about Saturday Mornings being all but dead. But it's a fantasy schedule, so go make out a schedule, make a name, be creative, be realistic, and don't go overboard with putting just any show that doesn't belong (Ex: I Love Lucy on Boomerang). Let's get started.

REMINDER: The block should be at 4 hours and nothing more.

    Here's my schedule:

Fall 2010-2011 Season: Disney XD on ABC

    9:00AM Jimmy Two Shoes
    9:30AM Fish Hooks (NEW SERIES)
    10:00AM Phineas and Ferb
    10:30AM Kick Buttowski (NEW SERIES)
    11:00AM Wolverine and the X-Men*
    11:30AM The Spetacular Spider Man**
    12:00PM Aaron Stone
    12:30PM Iron Man: Armored Adventures*

    * - I decided to add both the Marvel cartoons, even though it's on Nicktoons. Note that it's owned by The Walt Disney Company now.

** Even though it's Sony based, Disney have rights to air the program, correct?

    Fall 2011-2012 Season

    9:00AM Kid vs. Kat (NEW)
    9:30AM Phineas and Ferb (NEW)
    10:00AM Fish Hooks (NEW)
    10:30AM Kick Buttowski (NEW)
11:00AM The Super Hero Squad Show (NEW)
    11:30AM Aaron Stone (NEW)
12:00PM Wolverine and The X-Men (NEW)
12:30PM Thor: The Animated Series (NEW SERIES)

Time to say goodbye to the tired and welcome some fresh blood.

9: Phineas & Ferb (replaces Emperor's New School)
9:30: Kid vs. Kat (replaces the Replacements)
10: Wizards of Waverly Place (replaces That's So Raven)
    10:30: Hannah Montana (new time)
11: Suite Life on Deck (2 back-to-back eps)
    12: Spectacular Spider-Man (ABC debut)
    12:30: Aaron Stone

I put in Spider-Man because it would be a sort of homecoming for the web-head, whose first series (1967) also aired on ABC. In the event of college football, Spidey & Aaron would be moved up to give Suite Life a day off.

Now, if Disney actually could make it work, they could be well served putting Raven in syndication, as they did with Even Stevens & Lizzie McGuire a couple of years back (though it didn't work so well, since so few stations picked them up). I was tempted to put Jonas in there, but I think it's more condusive as a prime-time sitcom instead of a SatAM show.

Realistic? As in there's a snowball chance in hell that Naruto airs on broadcast television in the United States?

    Okay!

Using the current 9 AM - 1 PM slot, the E/I mandate (if Disney got away with certain non-E/I shows as such, then hey, we can stretch the meaning), and a complete sweep of shows, we can rebuild it.

Faster, stronger, newer, better, more fun, newer.

    Balanced. Did I mention newer?

9 AM: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (TV-Y - E/I): ABC Kids Premiere
9:30 AM: My Friends Tigger and Pooh (TV-Y - E/I): ABC Kids Premiere
10 AM: The Suite Life on Deck (TV-Y7 - E/I): ABC Kids Premiere
    10:30 AM: Sonny With A Chance (TV-Y7 - E/I): ABC Kids Premiere
11 AM: The Wizards of Waverly Place (TV-Y7 - E/I): ABC Kids Premiere
11:30 AM: Phineas and Ferb (TV-Y7 - E/I): ABC Kids Premiere
12 PM: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (TV-Y7 FV)
12:30 PM: Aaron Stone (TV-Y7 FV): ABC Kids Premiere

Two Playhouse Disney shows, three live-action Disney Channel sitcoms, one Disney Channel cartoon, and two action properties. Phineas and Ferb would be a stronger lead-in to the action shows than what's currently in place, which is why I placed the series right before Power Rangers/Aaron Stone. Plus, to be perfectly honest, college football doesn't really preempt shows on ABC Kids, at least not on the East Coast, as much as it used to. So, yeah.

Plus, with a stronger lineup, you have room for flexibility and a formula for the foreseeable future. Early mornings begin with an hour of Playhouse Disney toons followed up by new-to-broadcast episodes of Disney Channel originals and ending with an hour of action-based programming. Something that could prove handy when they really begin developing new action properties around the Marvel brands in the future. It's a good, realistic formula ABC Kids could adapt yesterday.

Disney should keep the ABC Kids branding on ABC Saturday mornings, but change the lineup to the following for Fall 2010:

    09:00 - Phineas and Ferb
    09:30 - The Replacements *
10:00 - Wizards of Waverly Place
10:30 - The Suite Life on Deck
    11:00 - Hanna Montana **
    11:30 - JONAS
    12:00 - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ***
    12:30 - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ***

    * - Episodes other than the 13 previously aired on the block
** - Episodes other than the 14 previously aired on the block
    *** - New episodes from Season 2

The lineup follows the current format, in that the first 3 hours fulfill the E/I requirement (assuming the listed shows do) and the final hour consists of new episodes of the "remastered" Mighty Morphin Power Rangers that are non-E/I programming. Furthermore, animated shows air in the first hour and live-action shows air for the duration of the block.

I know this lineup won't satisfy fan-boy delusions of certain shows airing on the block; but nevertheless, it is a realistic approach at creating a new lineup.

Some of these shows are way too old to be running on a broadcast network Saturday morning schedule, unless you're suggesting they get revived with new episodes. A reruns-only schedule on Saturday morning would tank in the ratings.

Realistically, you'd have to throw a couple of first-run shows (or currently running shows) into the mix to balance things out and to keep viewers interested.

Somehow, I don't see Disney wanting premieres of Phineas and Ferb, or anything for that matter on Broadcast Television, where they make more money with XD, AND TO A LESSER EXTENT, Disney Channel and ABC Family.

Also, didn't the creator of Sonic SatAM say that ABC BACK THEN DIDN'T WANT TO RENEW THE SERIES.? I'm not sure if it was run by Disney, yet though. I would of also been, in that case, interested in...

    Cowboys of Moo Mesa
    What A Mess
    Pepper Ann {Disney?}
...AND SOME MORE I CAN'T THINK OF, I WILL POST THEM HERE AS WELL.

Because the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers are owned by the original Saban Entertainment, which is owned and controlled by The Walt Disney Company. Transformers, which is a Hasbro property, is not owned by Disney in the slightest, although I think a few rights to Robots in Disguise are still owned by the company via their Saban roots.

Plus, Transformers will be back on another network. Stay tuned.
