I am hoping the animals are like Pokemon, meaning unlike the first series they don't talk at all. If they do humans can understand. Anyway I hope they don't talk, and scenes when they are alone we have to translate our selves like we have to do with Pokemon when Meowth ain't around.

If the Japanese can do it, so can we.

I've seen some of the webisodes. Going by those, it's a case where the animals speak English, but only to each other. It's just sounds like animal sounds to the humans.

Given the show's target audience is young children, the producers would likely not go with onscreen subtitles out of concern that small children wouldn't be able to read them.

I figured that the pets would at least be able to speak directly to Blythe, but again, going by the webisodes, that would appear not to be the case.

The thing is except for one episode back in season one, Pokemon never had subtitles. Without Meowth around, you had to figure things out yourself. So I wasn't even thinking of subtitles. Figure what the animals are saying like you would in real life. Even though all their say is their names over and over again, but they say it different tones, I kind of get what the pokemon are saying.

I just hope this doesn't take the 'Puppy in my Pocket' route. That show was just....urgh.

I can't help but be reminded some of our favorite characters from a certain show when friendship is magic with the color schemes of some of these pets. Don't blame them from riding the success of the pony express.

Yeah, they're clearly copying Friendship is Magic, 'cause no other toy franchise has ever employed the use of color-coordinated characters before. MLP: FiM is the first show/toy line to ever do that. Pink, green, purple, orange and blue colored animals automatically equals Pony ripoff.

No offense, but that's like trying to claim that Family Guy is copying Scooby-Doo because both shows have talking dog characters.

I didn't say they ripped them off. I am just saying I can't help but be reminded me of some Friendship Is Magic characters.

To be fair, the dog does have Twilight's hair.
But yeah, colorful characters is nothing new.

It's too early to say whether or not this show will be copying FiM or any other show yet. That said, it would only be "copying" FiM if it were to utilize the same style of "comedy" (if one were to call it that), which, with all due respect, I'm hoping doesn't happen. In any case, using a similar color palette isn't necessarily copying, IMHO.

You mean it shouldn't try to amuse kids? Because that's all Friendship Is Magic's style of comedy is. You always try to make it sound like the show is doing something abominable, but it's not. Friendship Is Magic isn't any different than any other cartoon. If this show wishes to succeed, then it needs to try to be entertaining and be somewhat appealing to a wider demographic.

The opening and one of the songs.

There are no sound effects in the song, which made it a bit awkward to watch until I realized what was wrong.
In any case, I like the opening and the included song is catchy. I'm not really feeling the characters, though.

Also, I only just found out that the "Littlest" in the title refers to the pets, not the shop. That makes a lot more sense.

Am I the only one that thinks it is possible that this show takes place in the same universe as the Pound Puppies, and these animals are breaking the cardianal rule of talking to humans. That would be cool if they did a crossover. Bunch of rule breakers, Lucky broke the rule once but he had no choice. Ha ha.

If Hasbro wanted to something awesome, I would be interested in seeing a 3 way crossover of the LPS, PP, and MLP:FIM. Now that could be awesome. If MLP:FIM is involved, it is awesome all ready.

That dog stole Twilights colors! XD. But yeah from the promos, I dunno I mean i'm sure it'll be good for what it is, but I doubt it'll be anywhere near as good as MLP:FIM. But i'm willing to give anything a shot at least once.

So no one with me about a MLP crossover. I think it could be fun, I would have take place in the pony universe, have Blyte and the pets get transformed to the pony universe and let the fun begin. I am sure the ponies would freak out at the talking animals. But not nearly as freaked out as seeing a human that talks. I could see them saying "talkking animals, that is freaky enough, but what is this creature, lock her in the dungen till we can figure out what to do."

And I checked out the Pet TV shorts, the voices in that one sounded like G3 ponies, so if this cast is the same as the MLP:FiM, in a way it follows suit.

Unless DHX (formerly Studio B) is doing the show, it's extremely unlikely, IMO.
