Madhouse has officially announced two new projects based on the works of Japanese novelist Tsutsui Yasutaka to be directed by Satoshi Kon (Millennium Actress, Paranoia Agent) and Mamoru Hosoda (Digimon: The Movie). The project to be directed by Kon is entitled Paprika and is set for a 2007 release. The book's protagonist is a genius psychotherapist and researcher who moonlights as a psychic detective named Paprika who has the ability to enter the unconscious minds of strangers. Hosoda, who was the first director announced for Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle project before it was taken over by Hayao Miyazaki, will direct The Girl Who Conquered Time. The project is set for a 2006 release.
