Um, they just pulled a Man of Steel. :p

Not my favorite season finale ever, but still plenty of good things. It was really cool seeing Dawson reprise her role; she got a lot more lines than I expected.

The scene where "Jessica" walks up to Killgrave with the loud music playing on her headphones was really well done. Gave me shivers.

The final scene was also pretty good. It's obvious that Jessica still doesn't think of herself as a hero, but I get the feeling that she'll come around.

Not a happy ending, but it provides closure so it's not exactly a sad ending either... I guess?!

It wasn't really an ending. It was an ending to the CURRENT story, but it screamed "season two" to me. And another season is fine by me, no matter how long I apparently have to wait.

Well, Daredevil got a season two announcement less than a year later, so if Jones did well enough, I expect to hear news about it really soon.

But what else can they do with a 2nd season since Killgrave's kaput?

Marvel said due to their current plans, they can't greenlight a second season of "Jessica Jones" or any show other than "Daredevil" because they would interfere with the storyline for the fourth show they have planned where all these characters team up.

Don't worry, Any further character development they might wanna do with JJ or other non-DD heroes would likely be touched on in the Defenders series anyway.

Hmm, two of her Alias arcs were with heavy hitters in the Marvel universe but there was one I recall... it was a case where she investigated a possible mutant in a small town. One was a conspiracy with Cap and the President. Another was JJJ hired her to find out Spider-Man's secret I.D.

But since Rosenberg originally pitched this as a standard television series, she must have an outline of another season or two in her head.

I honestly don't remember. I know Urich followed her around and all she did was rack up expenses for the Bugle to pay her back for. Then she met Spider-Woman or something. Some drug or hormone thing.

If I recall correctly, Jameson hired her (or Spider-Woman) to find Mattie Franklin who Jonah had adopted.

    Sounds more right. ;)

But I can see her season 2 arc being maybe drawn to look into a missing person case that sounds like Kilgrave's M.O. but it unfolds to be someone else and maybe even worse somehow.

It's not like it was a satisfying "death". Kilgrave's needed to be slower and more painful after all the horrible stuff he's done.
