Its certainly dark, and some of its undertones are very creepy.

Ey, I saw this before! To me, it's more weird than creepy. Especially the ending; I just sat there just thinking "Whoever made this certainly likes butt-slapping...".

I remember in the YouTube comments section, somebody said that the first few seconds reminded them of the creepypasta, Suicide Mouse.

A quick note: while the images are indeed surreal, the soundtrack for that video is NOT the actual soundtrack for the short. Here's the actual version of the short as it was screen in theaters in the 1930's.

The post you quoted is over a year old. I didn't join ToonZone for another month, but I'm guessing there was a video then.

Hmmm....and to think I just deleted my own post due to its tone....we still wonder what the cartoon is..

as for 1930s, I suspect MGM's "Bottles" (Hugh Harman for Harman-Ising) was it, from 1936, which is MY fsaovrite of that type.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the short is the 1931 Betty Boop cartoon Bimbo's Initiation, only with an alternate soundtrack to make it appear more creepy.

"Boop-Oop-a-Doop" (1932) is pretty creepy, with its obvious sexual harassment. I've also always found that song-and-dance ghost in "Snow White" (1932) nightmarish.
