Is Jem and the Holograms a magical girl series?

    Do you consider Jem and the Holograms part of the magical girl genre? It has a lot of magical girl tropes, but the source of Jem's powers is technology, fantasy technology but still, the opposite of magic. Not to mention is the only one who transforms and has a alto ego.

    At the very least could be a magical girl and idol series combo?

    I think it has more in common with Idol series more than anything with some magical girl elements.

    Kinda weird all thing considered.
