Japanese FunMail is coming to the United States. The software, which operates on mobil phones, utilizes wireless instant messaging technology allowing users to chose animated characters that read their mail to them. Cartoon Network, Disney, and Warner Bros. have already licensed their characters for use with this new system, as well as Comedy Central and their cast of "South Park" characters. FunMail has been advertised on Tokyo television, and has found immense popularity in the overseas markets. FunMail will be available in the United States by 2002.
