Adam Warlock could be in Avengers 4 and Vol 3.
Feige seems pretty adamant Adam will be in Vol. 3 first and Gunn is the one with the plan for him.
Considering also that Adam Warlock's origins are in the GOTG Movie Universe and that the Guardians themselves are suppose to be supporting players in Avengers 3 and 4, I really doubt they're going to introduce too many major GOTG only mythos in Infinity War or the sequel movie especially when it doesn't need to connect to the main threat of Thanos. So yeah pretty sure Adam is being saved for Volume 3 especially since his role in Infinity War seems to more be going to Vision anyway plus obviously he would be the big hook for the third movie. And Gunn has made it clear he plots out stories so there aren't an overload of elements in it that detract from the narrative thus why Adam wasn't really in Volume 2 so why would he be in Infinity War if Gunn has some say on what the Guardians side of that movie is like?
5/9: A given but Gunn confirmed Ayesha/Elizabeth Debicki will be back.
5/24: On his Facebook, someone asked Gunn if Guardians of the Galaxy 3 would still have Peter Quill as the only human. Gunn replied, "Human characters are no longer out of consideration."
Well, I imagine introducing the Guardians to The Avengers and Captain Marvel will open up some doors .
Gunn is back to confusing people. lol. Speculation has risen he's teasing Quasar.
It seems like there's a new rumor about Quasar being in the movie every month .
Wasn't much of a fan. So let's replace "the ring" for "bracelets". Hmmm. I liked Darkhawk more from that era.

If he's teasing Quasar it is probably the more recent one since she was the only one (to my knowledge) who was actually a member of the Guardians anyway.
Phyla-Vell as Quasar was also one of the founding members of the original DnA Guardians, so I could see it being her .
Phyla might actually be more likely if they want to develop the Kree more, rather then introducing another human character into the movies, and maybe finally introduce Moondragon .
Gunn wants to change something in someone's rap sheet from the first GoTG. Well, I believe it was already altered between the trailer and how it appeared in the movie. No biggie, imo.
That would probably be the easiest thing to retcon all things considered .
7/15: Gunn finished the 1st draft of the treatment yesterday.
8/4: Gunn promises Vol. 3 has all the answers we're looking for and ties a lot together. It will a little over a year before filming starts.
8/5: Gunn recently finished the second draft of the treatment. Most of the songs for the soundtrack are chosen. Gunn is looking for a young actor to portray Adam Warlock. He cites Matthew McConaughey as 'too old'.
Well, I guess a young actor would fit with a fresh out-of-the-cocoon Adam, on-top of likely giving them an actor with the potential for multiple, active, appearances across the MCU .
Gunn confirmed the Zune will be Yondu's way of communicating to Peter the same way the two mixtapes were Meredith's in the previous movies.
Well, "Father and Son" was obvious, though I'm curious what Yondu's taste in music will be like .
Gunn clarifies that Kraglin was not an official member of the Guardians. He works with them. More like a chauffeur.
I guess he's their Cosmo then .
Though the Guardians have never stuck me as the kind of group who would be too particular about what constitutes membership in the group or whether someone's "official" or not.
Gunn finished his treatment and rules out Vance Astro from appearing.
So he's appearing. j/k
Funny though, with him not being part of the New Warriors TV show it makes it more viable for my idea of giving him a small role in a She-Hulk tv series.
