Continuing what I started on this post, Issue #4 also included, via the Tattooed Man's tattoos, Captain Erstaz parodies of the Lion King (I think), Captain America, and Transformers, as well as a reference to Happy Feet. Before all that, it showed Hal ring-forming a girl snack vendor to serve him pop and popcorn while he watches TV. :D Fun issue, well worth the purchase.

I know it was posted in the other thread, but continuing on... I can't wait.

It looks pretty awesome, I like how they brought in Guy as his replacement and his design is pretty cool.
And the Anti-Monitor on Biot, bringing back the Manhunters? Wow.

The second season sounds quite promising.

I'm surprised that they're already having Guy Gardner. I'm also amused that he would be voiced by Diedrich Bader. He actually looks good in 3D.

It's been stated in a TV Guide that Green Lantern will return for it's second season along YJ: Invasion in September. It seems they're holding off the new shorts until then as well.

Sounds like a fun story. Interesting cover too with Hal in that outfit. Though I'm more interested in what Aya's "experiment" was.

What exactly is the fascination with talking rodents? Besides Mickey and bugs, in sci-fi fantasy there's Reepicheep, Rocky Raccoon, C'Hp, and even Bucky O'hare. I just don't get it, maybe it looks cool for them to be brandishing guns or something.

Something occurred to me today. I'm probably not the only person to suggest this, though I don't remember seeing it on here before:

Ilana = Black Lantern, confronting Razer?

    I've thought that too.

I also thought of Shiv from the premiere, as well as a few other casualties I may be forgetting, or will be happening in the second season. Hope we can reach the Black Lantern conflict.

There's always been interest from the staff in doing the Black Lanterns eventually but it all depends on them getting a season four or five... partly because they need to rack up a decent death count. A big show of support from the fans to help net a renewal would be buying the soundtrack, out now, and the season set that releases this coming Tuesday.

Like Yojimbo said, they would need at least 4-5 seasons to pull off Blackest Night. Because they would have to tell how and when each character died. And that would take quite a few episodes to build that up. They would need to do backstories and flashbacks on the characters that die. I suppose they could try and connect it with past DCAU shows, (but I can't think of any major character deaths, in those.) But IF there were, and they DID decide to try and connect this show with past DCAU shows, the flashbacks would need to be re-done in CGI, (or told in a completely different way.) But yeah, main thing is they definitely need to introduce other big DCU characters (heroes and villains) in the show for it to work.... Another "but"...
...While I really enjoyed the Blackest Night Series, it had holes and was really really dark and violent. Even edited I imagine it would still be a bit too dark to be told on a "childrens" network.

Side note on Blackest Night, if they tried to re-tell it in animated form, they would need to fix many holes. One of which...
...they couldn't have Superman become a Black Lantern first off, because he never actually died, he was only put into a "death like" coma, by Doomsday... And also if they did Blackest Night they would have to make a few more changes. They would need to make Superman become a Blue Lantern instead of Flash. Because I don't know what Geoff John's was chewing on... but Superman stands for hope more than any other DCU character I know of. Flash is great but John's bias towards him made that whole thing in the comic really lame to me, (I rolled my eyes several times. ;) ) I know I am biased when it comes to Batman or Superman. But I am too cool for school for anyone to question me on it. ;)
Sorry got way off subject there, (I always do that don't I?) lol, I guess I have always wanted to say the one part of Blackest Night I disliked... and decided to bother and bore all you with it instead of going to the DC message forums... ;)
    Ramble, ramble... lol

Back on subject, I am so pumped for the DVD release of this... but also quite disappointed that WB/DC decided not to go with releasing this show on Blu-Ray. I mean they have it in 720p on iTunes, which looks spectacular but I want 1080p. Plus they put "Star Wars The Clone Wars" on Blu-Ray and DVD, (and I bet that was a bit more expensive to do, with the licensing stuff with Lucasfilm.)
