Of course I also remember him as Badly-Animated Man and Powdered Toast Man.
Gary Owens also tried out for the role of Inspector Gadget in 1982. They even recorded a version of the pilot episode with him voicing Gadget!

    He will be missed...

RIP, Gary Owens. He was a terrific VA. I fondly remember his work as Space Ghost, Blue Falcon, Powdered Toast Man and the narrator of the only two Space Quest games that had voices (4 and 6).

    Born 1936 or 1934?

If Gary Owens was born on May 10, 1936 then he was only 78 when he died, not 80. I think that your year is wrong. Our condolences go out to Mr. Owens' family, friends, colleagues and many, many fans.

Nothing wrong with my math, bud. If Mr. Owens was born on May 10, 1936 then he would have turned 79 this May and 80 in 2016. Either most sites have his year-of-birth wrong (and it should be 1934) or his reported age is wrong.

Oh, you're right. I checked his Wikipedia article, and it should be 1934. Silly me. <:)

I wonder how Eric Boardman felt knowing about this news. He co-hosted with Gary for those Dinosaur specials.
