Finally! Listening to the episode now, and Season 4 is 206-263 and 16:9 HD!

So they're looking at a possible Summer 2012 release, not that long of a wait which I really like.

As for BluRay/dvd possibilities .... I don't think I'd mind paying a bit more than normal for a BluRay/dvd combo pack

    Confirmed:

Episodes #207-263 are the proper 16:9 HD. They've got HD and Blu-ray disc rights, yo. They aren't sure how they're going to release them on home video yet. Hopefully they'll opt for combo-packs, but they seem to be leaning towards retaining the current set up.

I'd say this is the best way to announce it, actually. The OPP is very popular and having it announced with both them and FUNi doing this together with the countdown increases the hype.

Exactly, and it is an announcement being sent directly to the One Piece fanbase. This seems more special than just being announced at a convention.

Wonderful news especially that it'll be on Blu-Ray as well.

263 would be a brutal ending point though so I hope we don't have another large break between the end of this batch and the beginning of the next.

After the long wait "Summer 2012" is a bit disappointing to hear but it beats "Fall 2012"

Even better news, this should break into four sets perfectly. Two sets of fourteen and two sets of fifteen, going off of the 'fifty-eight' number we've been given.

Could also be 12 - 11 - 12 - 11 - 12 if they try to spread it out to 5 sets. This is great news though especially the BluRay.

Ah, but four sets makes re-releasing easier! Then again, if Season Five is the next sixty-two episodes that will take five sets, so five and five does equal ten, which would mean five four-disc collections. Hmmm...

Yeah I'd expect them to stretch it to 5 sets with 3 12's and 2 11's as well that or 4 sets of 12 and one 10. They've had 12 episodes sets before and even season 3 part 5 ended up just being 10 episodes. They've also had 14 a couple of times but never 15. I think they probably want to avoid putting more than 7 episodes on a disc and also don't intend to make first run One Piece sets more than 2 discs but maybe they'll go for 3 discs in the future.

At any rate I wouldn't count on 15 episode sets.

Took long enough, but better late than never! I've really been hankering for some more One Piece. I suppose I can wait six months or so.

Cool. I just bought the first season set and have been enjoying it so far. I mean, I had watched some random episodes on Toonami before, but this is the first time I've started from the beginning and not skipped anything.

    Any news on more movies?

Didn't Senior Brand Manager Curtis Shaw say he saw AN episode in widescreen, not WHICH one? Could have been simply one of the later eps always in widescreen. Just telling you to stay wary amidst your wild screams of joy. :)
