What's your favorite Felix the Cat cartoon?
I voted for "Felix Woos Woopee"
I voted for...FELIX IN HOLLYWOOD
I just love this cartoon(and one of my personal favorite Felix short)where Felix goes to Hollywood and meets such legendary silent stars, Charlie Chaplin, Gloria Swanson, Douglas Fairbanks, Ben Turpin, and (founder of the production code)Will Hayes.
Felix was the one silent cartoon character that had a true personalty, which made him the most popular cartoon star in the silent film era.
Looks like "Felix in Hollywood" is the winner so far. But there are just a few more days left to vote - so vote while you can!
I like Felix Dines and Pines because of the dream sequence
Of the listed choices I would go with 'Felix in Hollywood.' Of the silent era, my favorite Felix short would be 'Astromeows' from 1928. It was one of the first FTC cartoons I saw, it was on an old VHS. The first three cartoons on the tape were 'Bold King Cole,' 'Neptune Nonsense' and 'The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg.'
None of those are on there, a major segment is left out.
1959's one with the diamonds made from lightning, with the Professor and his tough bestie Rockbottom (Don't forget those Poindexrter, Rock, Prof.etc. shorts---it did not end in the earlier era. The TV ones form 1957-1962 are the ones I remember, with the magic bag of tricks).
