Okay every Superhero has their nemesis, the one that causes them most suffering and problems, and as always are memorable ones that stand out.

I am trying to compile a list of all the famous superhero's and their villians.

    Superman - Lex Luthor

    Batman - The Joker

    Spider-Man - Green Goblin

Wonder Woman - Dunno cheeta, Areas?

    Green Lantern - Sinestro

    Aquaman - Black Manta

    X-Men - The Brotherhood

    Hulk - The Leader

    Iron Man - The Mandarin

    Green Arrow - Count Vertigo

Captain America - The Red Skull

    The Flash - Zoom

    Fantasitc Four - Doctor Doom

    The Punisher - Jigsaw

    DareDevil - Kingpin

    Thor - Loki

    Dr. Strange - Dormammu

    Silver Surfer - Mephisto

Still a long way to go.

To fill in a couple, although some may disagree:

    Aquaman - Black Manta/Devil Ray
    Green Arrow - Count Vertigo
Captain America - The Red Skull
    Iron Man - The Mandarin

    The Punisher - Jigsaw

The Fantastic Four - Dr. Doom

The Flash - Zoom (arguably others, but Zoom even caused the miscarriage of Wally's twins)

Now this was hard specially because I don't know much about his villians but the fact that he kills Electra in the comics makes him a bad man to Daredevil in my book.

Count Vertigo would probably be the closest thing Green Arrow has to an archnemesis, but Ollie honestly has no rogues gallery. I noticed this when I started reading the current trades of his comics book, and I can't for the life of me find a definitive list online.

If Black Canary has a nemesis, it'd probably be Lady Shiva, although Batgirl might lay claim to that villain.

Never underestimate the power of the powerful crime boss. I'd say Daredevil's is Kingpin while Nightwing's is Blockbuster.

The Avengers - Either Kang or Ultron

    Thor - Loki

Cable - Apocalypse (or was that Archangel and Apocalypse? I seem to remember an old X-Men trading card set that had archenemies that would match up)

I'd have to disagree with the X-Men and just say their archenemy is Magneto

    Dr. Strange - Dormammu
    Silver Surfer - Mephisto
    SHIELD - HYDRA
    Wolverine - Sabretooth
    Wonder Woman - Ares
    Teen Titans - Deathstroke
    Justice League - Despero
    Justice Society - Modru?
    Spawn - The Devil
    New Gods - Darkseid

    Nick Fury - Baron Strucker

GL Kyle Rayner - Major Force

    Cable - Deadpool?

    Robin Jason Todd - Crowbars

Justice League's is Despero? On what grounds?

If Justice League has a single archenemy, it's probably Amazo. I think it's far likelier that that JL's arch enemy is just the Injustice Gang or Secret Society or whatever they happen to be calling themselves.

The Legion of Super-Heroes' archnemesis is Mordru (and I suppose the Time Trapper); for the JSA, guess there's various foes to choose from (Vandal Savage, Per Degaton, the Wizard, etc.).

I don't know, I would have to agree with hour man and say that as a team, the Brotherhood is the archenemy of the X-Men, I would say that Magneto is Professor X's archenemy. But Magneto is the leader of the Brotherhood so I see your piont as well White.

I'd actually go with Circe for Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman's one has always been up in the air why.

It's always between Ares and Cheeta, who caused more troube and problems.

Circe - caused the War of the Gods, ruined the Patriarch Amazon tour, was Wonder Woman's counter-point in the Injustice Gang, made Wonder Woman think Themiscara was destroyed for a time, brought a group of Amazonian rebels to attack Themiscara, and continued to manipulate hostilities between the two groups after she was captured, and she created Cheetahs. Oh, and she KILLED Wonder Woman (reverting her into the clay from which the Amazons were formed). Lucky for Diana that she's got some greek gods on her side.

Cheetah doesn't even compare, though someone might make an argument for Ares.

well, i guess it is debateable, an archvillain is mostly viewed as two sides of the same coin

but if i guess that what the thread is about is the villain that causes the most trauma, trouble, etc. then i guess both circe and ares do count more than cheetah
