Has anyone here ever had a pet that they named after a cartoon character? I used to have a dog named "zelda". While it was named after the video game character (this was in 1989 when EVERYONE had an NES after all), i was also a huge fan of the cartoon show as well. And my mother tells me about her old dog named "snoopy".

My parents volunteered to take care of a cat and its litter of kittens one time. We named her kittens Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoicite, and Kunzite from Sailor Moon. We gave the other kittens back to the shelter but we kept Jadeite.

We named our old guinea pig, Nala, after the character from The Lion King. Our old dog, Max, was also name after the Max from Goof Troop.

I always had hamsters growing up. One time we decided to get two, brothers, and we named them Chip and Dale. (We wound up having to keep them in separate cages because they'd always attack each other and form a big furball that would roll around on the floor like Critters.)

Granted, our dog is female, I chose the name Ren (Ren & Stimpy). But hey, the girl on Even Stevens was named Ren, so it only justified my choice.

I had two hampsters that I named Pinky and Brain when I was younger. They were opposite of what they were named though. Pinky was little more agressive while Brain was very sweet. Brain did get out once by accident sadly he did not survive, our house had been sprayed for pests so he got some on his paws which of course he licked and got sick and died.

Though I used to have a pet, it wasn't named after a cartoon character. However, I thought of naming a cat "Wiley" if I had a male one. I had Wilykat from Thundercats in mind when I thought of that.

I had a lhasa apso/poodle mix named Homer, who turned out to be quite a bit more intelligent than his namesake.

Uh, you're not implying Christy Romano is "a dog," are you?

My uncle's family wound up with a dog named Tohru in 2001 after my little cousin became a fan of Jackie Chan Adventures.

My parents use to have a dog named Odie. My dad claims that at the time he named the dog that because he wanted a unique name and he never read Garfield before.

My mom named one of our cats "Felix".

My sister also had a goldfish once that was named "Goldeen" after the Pokemon, and it actually lived for a good six years before finally succuming to mildew that grew in the tank.
