Excellent !!! now if Disney would now create a channel for cartoons like Toon Disney used to be or even a retro channel I'd be very happy.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. If Toon Disney had been working, the Mouse House wouldn't have altered the format in the first place, and Disney isn't going to launch a retro channel because there'd be no decent or long lasting profit to be made from a channel that doesn't show anything new.

Disney has neither the money nor the interest to launch a 5th cable channel. At the most, Disney XD seems to have become Disney's go-to channel for original animated programming.

Besides, there are certainly other ways Disney could exploit their back catalog, like start a Disney Retro OTT service. But that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Thats exactly why i bought volumes 1 & 2 of Good Troop and will continue to buy more classics. Im not waiting for it too happen just to watch my favourites when it might not ever happen. DVD might just be the only way now for them to exploit their back catalog of shows.

This is why we need the older Disney shows on a legal streaming service.

Back on topic, I could easily see Mercury Filmworks doing the animation. Their effective use of Flash has led to animation that could easily rival Disney's big budget animated features.

Me too ! honestly here in Canada we have a TV network called Teletoon Retro that shows nothing but old shows so I'm not really convinced Disney couldn't do the same thing but a legal streaming service also sounds like a great idea.

Something tells me you're not a fan of modern Disney TV Animation aesthetics. :p

Which is actually use to get that high quality Disney animation seen in movies, as said program was used for Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh.

Same software, different type of production. If Mercury Filmworks could pull off TMS-style animation on a modern TV budget, I'd be really impressed.

So the show may be computer animated. But as the article states, it's just a rumor. So what if it was CG? Would you like it or hate it? For me, it just depends on the quality of the animation. If it looks like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, or any show on Disney Junior for that matter, I would be disappointed. But if it had quality level CG (Jimmy Neutron or above) I would be okay with it.
