occupy wall street comes to gotham? if the joker protest wasnt a jab on occupy wall street, then i dont know it is. i'm all for advocating for rights and better treatment for the mentally ill, but there is no way i can imagine citizens of gotham having a pro joker movement even if he is 100% legally insane.

I found last month's issue to be a bit of a miss for this comic and this issue was an improvement but things do still feel a bit weaker than the earlier issues. But the introduction of that villain who can change appearances might be giving us an 'out' for the whole Joker face thing. The quality in this comic has dipped a bit in the last few issues but I will ride it out to see how this first arc concludes. Hopefully it ends on a good note.

For me, Detective Comics has been the strongest Batman title since DC rebooted/relaunched it's universe, there is just something about the storytelling and the interior art from Tony Daniel that makes me LOVE this title. Batman's self titled series is a very close second for me, but Detective Comics has been nothing short of a blast for me to read and I'm totally hooked on it, it's the first time since the really early 90's that I find myself really enjoying the book.

My question for everyone would be: What are others on the forums here thinking/feeling about Detective Comics? Enjoying it? Hating it? Buying it just because it's another Batman title and your addicted? Let's hear it! Personally, I loved the whole storyline about the Dollmaker and his cronies, it was really tight and I'm loving how other villains are being weaved into it all, it's just coming together so nicely and I am truly hoping that Tony Daniel doesn't leave this book anytime soon.

I think I might be dropping this title. I found this to just be a very mediocre issue at best and my interest in this title has really waned. This title wasn't the best Batman book on the shelf - that belongs to Batman and Batman & Robin - but it was still serviceable and enjoyable, but the book has been losing steam over the past couple of issues. The quality of the artwork seems to be slipping a little bit too. I'll stick around for next month's one-shot issue and the Court of Owls tie-in for issue #9 but I can't see me sticking on after that unless there is a big upgrade in quality. With this being the end of the arc it seems like a good time.

Not a bad issue but I think I might be hopping off this title after the "Owls" crossover. This title doesn't have a lot of re-readability to it and I find the problems this title has become really apparent when revisiting it. The writing just doesn't hold up (such as the "bath. A bloodbath" line, and the one about what the Joker does naked) as well as the writing, which has been improving. Daniel has really grown in the last few years as an atist. He started off very sketchy and his ability to tell a story in his art wasn't that great but he has greatly improved in that area. Still I just don't think it is enough to stay on this book.

A real fun issue but it does confirm a teeny worry I had about these Night of the Owl tie-in issues - that they won't really have a big effect on the main Night of the Owls story in Batman. The book does get a bit of a shot in the arm thanks to this tie-in since I found it has been waning some over the last few issues but this comic does feel a bit inconsequential. This seems like a good place to stop for now and maybe transition over to trades. The art is nice and all but the writing really needs some work.

Weak issue to me. I know Tony chose to have Detective 9 become a Night of the Owls tie in later on so he didn't have a lot of time to work on the issue but it's still no excuse for it not even really tying in until the last few pages. The issue was more about Arkham and it's patients than it was the Owls and that really disappointed me. I know they couldn't have done much here because Bruce is fighting Owls in the main Batman book but that being so I don't think they should have crossed over at all if they didn't know what to do here.

    Hope next month is better.

Great issue, much better than Batman #9 this month! I enjoyed the action as well as seeing characters such as Clayface in the New 52's universe, he looked great as did some of the other cool villains shown, overall I really enjoyed issue #9 and it still remains my favorite Batman title on store shelves today. I'm kind of getting tired of the Owls, but I'm sure this storyline will be wrapped up soon with bigger and better things on the horizon. :)

I have to say I am really interested to see who they get to replace him.

I'm surprised DC picked Layman to write this book though it really interests me. Can't wait to see how this goes!

I highly recommend you guys pick this up alone for the back up, it's a prelude to the Death Of The Family arc Snyder is doing in October on his Batman comic.
