Cool! So we can quickly segue into season 3 once we get the last few episodes of season 2 .
Yeah, I guess they're going to open season 3 with those last 2...
But I guess I can understand the rationale. Starting season 3 with them is a clean break canon-wise because both are post-Hero of the Year.
That's cool, I was wondering if they'll announce a date for the next season or just have the shorts premiere without any real promotion. I remember there was a longer break between seasons 1 and 2, so it's nice to hear new webisodes will officially start later this month.
Season 3 starts with a mystery, one of the girls goes missing.
Hmm...I wonder if this will tie-in to Lena Luthor? Seems similar to what her brother did in first the graphic novel where he kidnapped/captured all the main girls. All the more fitting if it's Kara who's gone missing .
I wonder if it'll carry over into the next subsequent episode .
I definitely agree it likely has to do with Lena Luthor.
It would be cool if they had a story-arc about this disappearance for a few episodes. I wonder if the Junior Detective Club will be involved, trying to solve the mystery.
Edit: Here's a video interview with Shea Fontana.
And another interview, with Fontana and Agnes Garbowska about the digital comic series.
The first two chapters of the digital comic will be available for free until the end of the month on Read DC Entertainment, with the promo code: PASTTIMES2017. You need to have an account on the site.
No surprise but there will be a DCSHG preview comic of Summer Olympus at Free Comic Book Day this year.
Cool. New heroes and learning the back story of existing characters plus a bigger focus on Starfire's past and her family issues. Sounds good to me.
I wonder if exploring Starfire's family issues will lead to the introduction of her sister in the webisodes. I remember her brother Darkfire was in the first short, but I think that Yearbook confirmed Blackfire's existence.
Pretty nice stuff. That looked almost like a movie trailer to me.
Cool trailer !
Lot's to look forward to this season:
- Lena Luthor creating sentient, dangerous, colored Kryptomites .
- A prison break at Belle Reve involving the Female Furies (I'm guessing that's Lashina breaking them out?) .
- The heroes facing off against Lion Mane .
- Harley, Katana and Bumblebee vs. a training simulator .
- Wonder Woman racing Flash with an invisible Wonder-Cycle .
Lena and Lashina's VA's sound familiar...
I am reminded of the trailers for the special and Hero of the Year...especially with the Furies involved
Yes, that's Lashina. She and the Wonder-Cycle were teased in the Yearbook. The latter is part of a Vehicles Club.
EDIT: Solicit for Past Times #10 has been posted. Set for February 8.
I think the iconic character Romi Dames said she would voice will be Lena Luthor. Lena's voice sounds remarkably similar to Musa from Winx Club, who she played in the Nickelodeon dub. Listen to Lena's voice at the beginning and then listen to Musa's voice in that clip. Don't they sound similar?
1/23: The trade paperback for the digital comic, Past Times at Super Hero High, has shown up for pre-order on Amazon. Release is September 26 so the general release should be September 13.
2/2: Past Times #11 set for March 1
Looks like issue #10 of the digital comic will be released next week (on the 15th) instead of today. It is available for pre-order.
It was suspicious they had it set for the 8th anyway since it's always been every two weeks.
2/17: New dolls and figures, including Frost.
ToysRUs and Toy Industry Foundation has awarded the DC Super Hero Girls action dolls line the title of "Action Figure of The Year" in this year's Toy of the Year Awards.
Heh. So we had a "Hero of the Year" movie and now DC Super Hero Girls has won "Action Figure of The Year." Fitting .
And also, congratulations !
