I hope to see some Justice League or Batman Beyond next year.
Last year was a pretty incredible for soundtracks... to have both S:TAS and B:TAS in the same year, plus BTBATB. I wonder if we will see many releases this year. It does seem to take a while to produce them.
In September it will be 20 years since the final episodes of The Adventures of Batman and Robin aired, so maybe La La Land will have something special planned. Still hoping that LLL will get around to both that and B:TAS vol. 4.
Just saw this from La-La Land's Facebook page...
Very happy to see that both B:TAS Vol. 3 and S:TAS sold well! I hope this bodes well for future DCAU releases!
Ooooh! I hope so! A TAoB&R soundtrack is definitely at the top of my list for most wanted releases.
That's fantastic news for fans of Walker and Co.
Hopefully this will push La La Land to move forward with more collections at a quicker pace. I know these releases are the result of alot of hard work and contract negotiations, but waiting 2-4 years seems a tad excessive.
I'm crossing my fingers for a final (limited) volume of unreleased music from the original 65 episodes of B:TAS, a 4 disc collection of The Adventures of Batman & Robin and, of course, Batman & Mr Freeze: Subzero.
Great news! According to MV of La La Land Records, B:TAS volume 4 is on the cards!
FSM Board: PR: BATMAN ANIMATED SERIES VOL 3, TF4, AND MANHUNT
That's great news indeed!! I'm glad that we will be able to have a complete collection of music from the original series.
Now the question is, will it come before or after a TAoB&R soundtrack? How about both at the same time??
A SDCC exclusive from Mondo was announced: A Superman: The Animated Series vinyl. It has music from Superman: The Animated Series and The New Batman/Superman Adventures.
DC All Access has the first look!
With the announcement on their face book page that there's a Justice League: Gods and Monsters soundtrack coming on 28th July, I wonder if we might see one or two more DC animated soundtracks before year's end. Some possibilities:
B:TAS Volume 4 (would be great to get this one this year; hopefully all the missing score cues from the Volume 1 episodes will be included)
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (perhaps not so likely for this year as we've yet to get Volume 4... but you never know)
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker expanded (would be well worth having and would be a really good way of testing the waters for an eventual release of music from the show)
Superman: The Animated Series Volume 2 (I would prefer to get the above Bat-releases first but this may be coming our way at some stage)
^ I would be thrilled to see any of those released this year. I think you're right that they'd probably release BTAS Vol. 4 before TAoB&R... but who knows? ... I'm dying to have the music from the TAoB&R episodes!
I just got around to listening to the June 9th episode of "Batman the Animated Podcast" featuring Lolita Ritmanis. Has anyone else listened to this? Very interesting stuff!!! She talks about what it was like working on the show with Shirley Walker.
She also mentions that there's some exciting stuff coming from La La Land "very soon"!!! Listen around 40:40...
"Stay tuned...because there's some amazing stuff coming up soon that I'm very excited about"
This has me really excited!!! I wonder how soon "very soon" is... and what releases might she be referencing??
My gut feeling is that Lolita Ritmanis is referring to either Justice League or Batman Beyond... which would be fantastic, but I'd still want more B:TAS music to be released this year as well.
At any rate, it's great to hear so much excitement in her voice! I'm very intrigued!

COMPOSER FREDERIK WIEDMANN TACKLES AN ALTERNATE JUSTICE LEAGUE UNIVERSE!
Justice League: Gods And Monsters Soundtrack To Be Released By La-La Land Records
La-La Land Records will be releasing the JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERSsoundtrack CD (limited edition 1000 units) exclusively at www.lalalandrecords.com on August 11, 2015. Composer Frederik Wiedmann (FIELD OF LOST SHOES, JUSTICE LEAGUE: THRONE OF ATLANTIS) composed the music for the DC Universe Animated Original Movie available on DVD and BluRay also on July 28, 2015.
“I was super excited to get to work on Justice League: Gods and Monsters with Bruce Timm, our second project together (after Green Lantern - The Animated Series),” said Wiedmann. “When I first saw the footage, I was blown away by how different everything was. Nothing was like I expected. It was a very unique, new take on our favorite superheroes, an invitation for me to reinvent myself a little bit from a musical perspective, which is a very exciting place to start a new project.”
Witness a divergent reality where the Justice League protects the planet – but answers to no one but themselves. Employing methods of intimidation and fear, this Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman deal brute force in the name of justice. From the creative genius of executive producer Bruce Timm and co-producer Alan Burnett comes an original story where the world’s greatest triumvirate of super heroes has distinctly different origins. Superman was not raised by the Kents in Smallville, the Caped Crusader is not Bruce Wayne, and Wonder Woman is not an Amazon warrior of Themyscira. They are as likely the world’s saviors as Earth’s despotic rulers. When a group of famed scientists experience untimely “accidents,” a government task force follows the trail of clues to the Justice League – but is there a more powerful player operating from the shadows? It’s a high stakes game of intrigue, mystery and action that asks the question: How do you serve justice to those above the law?
“Our three main heroes all have a very dark past, and as we get to learn about their backstory the music follows the tragic events of their journey beat by beat,” Wiedmann described. “We recorded a wonderful group of 30 strings at East West Studios in Los Angeles (conducted by Hyesu Yang), giving the emotional aspects of the score the depth and warmth it deserves. You will also hear an array of dulcimers and guitars, as well as ethnic woodwinds (performed by Chris Bleth), mostly complimenting Wonder Woman’s backstory and giving it a slightly ethnic flavor (“In Another Life”).”
Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Frederik Wiedmann came to Los Angeles in 2004 to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a film composer. After a couple assistant positions, Wiedmann scored his first feature RETURN TO HOUSEON HAUNTED HILLfor Dark Castle Entertainment, Warner Premier in 2007. Since then, he has written music for a wide variety of feature films such as COMPANY OF HEROS, HOSTEL PART III, THE DAMNED, THE HILLS RUN RED, JARHEAD II, FIELD OF LOST SHOES and many others.
After adding 2 Annie Award Music nominations to his resume for the critically acclaimed TV series GREEN LANTERN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, he moved onto scoring the brand new Warner Bros. Animation show BEWARE THE BATMAN (Cartoon Network), as well as numerous animated feature films based on DC Comics, such as SON OF BATMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE: FLASHPOINT PARADOX, JUSTICE LEAGUE: THRONE OF ATLANTIS, the successful Disney Junior feature LUCKY DUCK and series MILES FROM TOMORROWLAND, and the Netflix series KING JULIEN.
Warner Bros. Home Video presents JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS, available on DVD and BluRay on July 28, 2015. The JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS - Original Soundtrack will be available on CD (limited edition 1000 units) from www.lalalandrecords.com on August 11, 2015.
This is slightly off-topic, but fans of composer Michael McCuistion may be interested in this new release from La-La Land Records:
If you appreciate the cosmic music Michael created for shows like SUPERMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE, this may help tide you over until the next DCAU release!
I'm a big fan those cosmic scores you're referring to, like "The Return" and "In Brightest Day...". Planning on getting this pronto! I hope the next DCAU release isn't a long way off though. If you think we need tiding over then that suggests that we're in for quite a wait!
great blu rays. I am only sorry that are not available in Latin america.
Good things come to those who wait...
True! Though it's beginning to feel like a Batman v. Superman tie-in will be the next release. I hope to see something come out this year. In the meantime, I've pre-ordered Time's Up! - great sound samples!
Michael McCuistion, Lolita Ritmanis and Kristopher Carter (the Dynamic Music Partners) will be hosting a concert in Krakow on 29th May - and the orchestra will be playing their music! There's going to be material from S:TAS, JL, JLU, Return of the Joker, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Sub-Zero and Mystery of the Batwoman!

That's awesome that you are going!
All that great DCAU music performed live...It sounds amazing. I'd love to see a concert like this in the US. I would go in a heartbeat!
I'll be interested to see what you thought of it afterward.
