Hopefully 2018 does not bring ANOTHER animated movie from Batman!
    I would like to see...
    Justice League REBIRTH
    Green Lantern / Flash
or Green Lantern / Green Arrow
Justice League Crisis on the Microverse
, original arc focused on Ray Palmer! (10 years of movies and we did not see the Atom yet !!)

Well, as I recall, the original thought was to adapt Gotham by Gaslight as a double-length short when the Showcase shorts were still being produced.

I wouldn't hold my breath. You might be better off hoping for only one animated Batman movie.

    The chicken or the egg.

The more they keep making Batman the more they become dependent on him.

They are afraid if they feature other superheroes their numbers will drop.

But then they will never know if other superheroes can be more successful than Batman.

They are stuck in a fearful loop.

Kinda where FOX is with X-Men films and Magneto, Xavier, and Wolverine. However, we see they have grown a little confident with Deadpool.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight is the next movie title, as mentioned on the back cover for the Batman and Harley Quinn DVD.

So the next film is going to be a Gotham by Gaslight adaption! Interesting...curious to see how much they adapt or expand from the source material, and what the voice cast and art style will look like .

Also interesting that we're apparently getting another out-of-continuity film start off next year straight after Batman and Harley Quinn :).

Another Batman movie?! Can we please get a stand alone Superman movie, like Red Son?! It's too soon for another Batflick. I mean nothing wrong with that but still we need a break from Batman oversaturation.

That is surprising to see an out-of-continuity movie early next year. It seems like the DC animation crew might be mixing it up with these movies. Last year, we got the in-universe Batman movie before the in-universe Justice League movie. This year we got an in-universe Teen Titans movie instead of an in-universe Batman movie. Who knows if they've changed things up dramatically for next year?

It is interesting to see the first movie for next year listed on the back cover since they usually don't do that.
I'm not sure we can expect anything else. As James Tucker stated here, before Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, the studio felt the need to include the Justice League or Batman in all their (recent) movies. The Judas Contract was only made before it followed Justice League vs Teen Titans.

Even though we're still getting Batman and Harley Quinn this year, we got one movie without Batman at all since Superman: Unbound. That's a pretty big deal, so even if we get more Batman, I don't mind as long as they're making an effort to branch away from relying on the character.

Not so; The name of the Sneak Peek is routinely revealed on the back cover packaging, even when it is for the next year's first quarter. It isn't always revealed this far in advance, but there isn't an autumn release (except perhaps for the Caped Crusaders vs. Two-Face feature, but that is a different line (DC Classics).

Not always. Sometimes it is like Batman: Assault on Arkham in 2014 and sometimes it isn't like Justice League: Gods and Monsters in 2015. Most of the time, it seems like it isn't because they like to save those reveals for Comic-Con, but maybe I'm just not remembering correctly.

The Sneak Peek title isn't always on the prototype art for the DVD/Blu-ray packaging, but it is always on the final product.

I am guessing we will get Batman: The Caped Crusaders vs. Two Face in Oct/Nov after WB previews it at NYCC and Gotham by Gaslight in Feb 2018

I understand the reservation at the idea of yet another Batman movie at this point, even if the reason why always makes fiscal sense, though a Gotham by Gaslight adaption seems like it could be a lot of fun so I don't mind too much :).

And, given the first revealed film of the 2018 slate is an out-of-continuity Batman movie, that means there's potential for the next two in-continuity movies to not be Batman movies ;).

They need to concentrate on the popularity of Wonder Woman immediately.

Well, that's a surprise! We were just discussing about it a few days earlier. I still stand by my thoughts.. the comic is just too short for a full 75 min movie. I wonder what are they going to do to expand it.

It is Superman's 80th anniversary next year. Perfect opportunity for a solo animated adventure (the first in five years).

It'll be interesting to see what the other two movies next year will be.

Actually a film adaptation of Superman: Red Son is in development, though apparently it's going to be live action than animation.
