That's a nice surprise!
Awesome to finally see seasons 1 and 2 set for an official DVD release, and combined into a movie to boot .
Definitely curious to see what the new content is...
Static Shock: The Complete First Season is coming March 28th, 2017 to DVD from Warner Archive. Details are up at WBShop.com with further info to follow soon. Additionally, WBShop.com lists a March 14th, 2017 release date for The Zeta Project: The Complete Second Season on DVD.
Remember to follow The World's Finest on Twitter for updates and more!
Well Static Shock Season One and The Zeta Project Season Two are on their way this March!
Zeta Project comes out March 14th while Static Shock comes out March 28th. This is a huge deal for fans of both shows. I hope you're happy @A Brisk Autumn Day.
Woah! Didn't see that coming.
No way! I was just wondering about Static Shock the other day! I own every other DCAU show on DVD/Blu-ray, and I've been wanting to add Static to complete the collection. Awesome news!
Zeta Project...meh. The one DCAU show I don't particularly like, but I still like that WB will finally have the whole DCAU on DVD.
we need static shock seasons 2, 3, and 4 released on dvd.
That is pretty awesome news. It's nice that both series will be available on DVD in the near future. Getting to see Static Shock again would be a lot of fun for me in particular.
I'm elated to see the news. While I would have preferred a series set for Static, I understand the economics of why it's only a season 1 set. I can only hope fans respond with their wallets so we'll see the next 3 sets offered.
This is AMAZING news that I've been waiting YEARS for! I REALLY hope fans buy these up to complete their DCAU collections so that the rest of SS get's a release!
And to think, less than a month ago, in this very thread, I expressed some pessimism for both Zeta (season 2) and Static making it to DVD. Warner does it again in ensuring that their super-hero shows are preserved on home media! Excellent work, guys!
If only Disney/Marvel would even consider doing the same...
Yes!! Yes!! Yes!! I'm celebrating right now. Anyone have any pre-ourder information at all? Just on their website!
I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to the thread I made that got put into this one and tried contacting Warner, or helped in other ways, including simply throwing in your suggestions and thoughts about it or supplying informative information! And of course all the fans who were on a mission to make these releases a reality long before I even thought to! I don't know about all of you, but I'm pre-ordering immediately!...as soon as I payday hits!
Pre-orders are only live on WBShop's website currently.
Amazon does have placeholders up but it's bare and not live yet. It should be shortly. 3/1: It's live!
-Static Shock S1
-Zeta Project S2
I'm up for these older shows getting a DVD release, and hopefully the rest of Static can be on DVD. Too bad there aren't any bonus features.
I'll be honest... I would rather WB Archive had crafted a 26 episode/4 disc set for Static Shock, which meant we would only have to buy two volumes. Therefore, lowering potential risk of them not finishing the series.
On the other hand, I understand that might not have been cost effective in and of itself.
Warner Archive have been a bit slow with some of their animated series releases, but for series they've had to split into sets, they've not done too badly in finishing them. It may take a little while, but I'm confident they will eventually finish Static. They must be aware that there is likely to be greater interest in the following seasons due to the DCAU connections, which by my reckoning are among the final DCAU episodes to be released on home media (outside of Static Shock's own episodes, of course).
Pre-orders for Static and Zeta are live on Amazon but are at full price like Vixen.
